good article. I have to say I have never trained my kids to say "sorry." I hate sorry, actually. I find it completely meaningless. I teach my kids to apologize. that means they have to say more than sorry and they have to mean what they say.

Those are good suggestions!
Our girls had to say, "I'm sorry I .... Will you forgive me?" And then do something nice for her sister (related to the offense). The victim had to forgive, but sometimes it took a little while to get there.

I ask the kids to say they apologize and then ask what they can do to help make it up.
