Oh how I hate making shaker boxes. All the foam tape and having to perfectly cut the frame and the acetate. Not to mention the stuff sticking to the foam tape and clinging to the acetate. AND having all the little bitty fillers everywhere while trying to figure out how to organize a billion beads, sequins, charms, and punchies. Yes, yes. I know I don't HAVE to jump on trend. But I will see a bunch and eventually I'll think they are super cute and I'll try it. After buying on the junk, of course. SIGH. I need a giant freezer with a padlock.

I don't know if shakers are back in, but I've seen a lot of sewn up sequin pockets.
I do a modified version of this, because i don't even sew on my layouts. I use smaller ziplock bags or glassine envelopes, fill them with whatever I want to put in there, zip or seal them closed, and then use folded over patterned paper or washi tape to hide the seal and make it decorative.

Not sure about being back in style but I love shaker cards Papertrey Ink had a card making kit on offer a few months ago which makes the whole process so easy - great sets of dies which cut everything the right size. You could get the same effect from using nestabilities or sizing things with an electronic cutter.

Back in style? Don't know, don't care. I didn't do them first time around and won't be doing them this time around. But then cute is not really my style.

I've never made a shaker card before but I just ordered a star border punch & I plan to use the tiny stars in a shaker card. I saw the idea featured next to the star border punch and it's too cute.

The only 2 I ever did was one with dirt from the first house we built and one with sand from our honeymoon. I won't be making anymore.

They'll have to come and go again without me. I made one in my entire life. Hated the process, didn't like the result.

Been there, done that, not doing it again. Way too messy and time consuming.

Oh! Really you girls don't like them? I do! And I don't think they are that difficult do make. But I use it because I like it, not because it's trendy.

pretty simple to make by sewing up a bit of ziplock bag around some sequins or confetti Unless you're like me & couldn't sew her way out of a ziploc bag, lol. I have the stuff to make one, but haven't found the right place for it yet. Now that they're coming back, I'll have to make more of an effort. I do have one on a page. It is of the USA and had rw&b beads, etc. in it. I put it on the page celebrating my son's naming of the 50 states (they had a contest at his school). Turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself. A few weeks ago I was moving pages in my scrapbook and when I got to that one, the adhesive had worn out and there were beads all over the bottom of my page. I was able to repair it w/Scotch Quick Dry, but I'm wondering how long even that will last.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

I am a sucker for shakers, although I've never made one myself. I love them! Especially the stickers. I call them "stuff stickers," because I love stickers with stuff in them, especially if it moves around. I cannot help myself.

I made one years ago and didn't mind the process. Wanted to make more and didn't get around to it. I've seen some really awesome shaker box work lately, but can't remember where. Might try again.

I would like to see the dirt and wedding sand ones. That sounds very cool.
I like filling up pouches in pocket pages with stuff. I just staple it down. I am burned out on sewing.

I have one on my desk right now. Its a little black purse with beads inside. It also has a metal chain handle. It will go well with a Graphic 45 Couture album I'm working on. Ive had it for years. It was one of only a few I kept after getting rid of dozens and dozens of them.
