I bought mine a couple of years ago when the Archiver stores decided to liquidate them. I've used it only once...yes, I know, crazy. Anyway last week I needed to cut a circle and I didn't have a punch or framelit the size I needed. I go to use my eClips and it wouldn't turn on. Unplugged it, made sure the connection was tight, etc... I'm wondering if it got struck by lightening but wouldn't other devices in my house have been affected? I called Sizzix & they need proof of purchase from me. I don't have my receipt anymore and Archivers online can't find my order. I'm wondering if I'm SOL and won't be able to get it repaired.

I would call Sizzix again and explain that you can't find the receipt. They have excellent customer service.
Have you tried plugging something else into the same outlet? Over the years, I've had a couple of outlets in my house that have gone bad.

I guess I'll try again. It's been over a year since I purchased it so I don't know what my recourse is. If it was less than a year old they would send me a new machine. Yes, I've tried other devices and they work. It was actually plugged into a surge protector.

I know people with other types of cutters who have had the USB or power cords go bad. If you have a similar printer / USB / power cable that you could try, I would swap out the cord(s) and see if that helps. I would also Google the exact problem you're having and see if anything pops up with other people having a similar issue and what (if anything) fixed it. I was having some problems with my old camera that was long out of warranty and discovered via a Google search that it was a well known issue with that camera. Canon's website had a recall for it and they fixed my OLD camera free of charge, including the shipping both ways! (Did I mention it was out of warranty? By like FOUR YEARS! Their customer service is amazing.) I hope you can get it working!

And one thought on the electricity thing...it's weird, our neighbor's tree got struck by lightning, and our electrical lines went near the tree. Their garage door opener was affected, and at our house, just the coffee maker was affected. It was really weird, but only those two things out of our two houses were affected by an electrical strike. None of those were on a surge protector, but there are a LOT of electronics like TVs in bedrooms, etc that aren't on a surge protector at our house. So, yes it's possible that just one item could be affected in your entire house.

Plugged it in and it works!! Thanks so much. Sizzix did get back in touch w/ me. They were going to send me a brand new machine. Now all I need for them to do is send me a new power cord. WooHoo!!

Gee, thanks! I remembered reading about people having a similar issue on the Pazzles MB a while back and thought it might be worth a shot especially since it had been a while since you bought it. I'm *SO* glad it worked and that it wasn't something more serious!
