I have been watching process videos on Youtube and doilies!
I think I've owned one (it came in a discount kit I bought and it was school bus orange so I never used it).
Where do you buy them?
What size do you use most?
White or a variety of colors?
Anything else I should know before I buy 100 of these things?
Why do they only come in huge quantities?
My layouts would like to be doilified...

Cambridge 6in in a bundle of 1,000 on Amazon. It's the same one that Studio Calico sells 10/$1 but it ends up being 1 cent or less per doily in the US, lol. It is the most delicate doily and I love it. However, I have doilies from other kits and even buy them in the seasonal scrapbook supply area at Michael's. You can get them in seasonal patterns at the Dollar Tree, too.

I've bought in both the scrapbooking section and the cake baking section. for bright colors in smaller sizes Doodlebug is where it's at. I have way more than i need because they do come in large packs.

I still love doilies too. Not on every page, but I like using them. I love those ones from SC too - probably my favorite!
Also, Martha Stewart used to have some white small ones in two sizes that I really liked too. They may still have them in Michaels.

I personally get mine from under the soup bowl at the lunch I go to on Fridays... My friends are getting accustomed to be asking them to lift their bowls. I always try to snag them before any soup gets spilled on them There was another thread here about them coming in big quantities. I wonder if people would do a swap or a RAK of some extras to share the love...? It seems such a waste for everyone to buy 100 of them and then use a dozen (maybe)... I'd be happy to pop a few soup bowl doilies in an envelope for you. I want to say they're about 3.5" across, plain white, pretty simple. I've used them on cards here and there. You can easily color them, so white should be a good place to start.

I bought a pack of whites and a few colors on clearance at JoAnn's and Michael's, then decided to buy doily dies instead. I bought a 4", 2.5" and 1.5". That way I'm not storing doilies and I can make them any color I want.

I don't buy doilies. I use my Silhouette to cut them in any color and size I want.

I also remembered somewhere (not in my craft room, I wonder where I put it...) I have a Martha Stewart circle punch around the page gadget that might punch something that could be doilie-ish. If I can find it, all the parts and remember how to use it... it punched a rather large circle if I remember correctly though.

I usually make my own on my Cameo. I use my inks to color them. I use my embossing folders to give them an embossed look. I have been buying our favorite cheap China dies off of Ebay to make doilies. I got the cutest set of five doilies dies the other day that are the size of half-dollars. I think I paid less than $2 for them.

I have a couple packages of doilies, one white and one kraft, that are 3-4 inches. I've had them a while, and they came from a dollar bin. I usually alter them with stamping, inks, gelatos, etc. I also have a doily die that I bought at Hobby Lobby (with a coupon, of course!). I use it a lot more than I thought I would. I love that I always have that perfect doily to go with any project, especially cards. And I occasionally use my Cricut to cut doilies.

I love Doilies. I use the 4 to 5 inch ones the most for layering and grouping. I bought a lot of mine at michaels either in bins (a dollar a color for 20 or so) or for a while they would have them for holidays too. Some of the holiday ones would have whatever holiday related subject in the center but I tuck them far enough in that would be covered. Usually got the holiday ones for next to nothing. I think recollections still has that color line that has doilies. I have bought some with groups of friends, and we trade a few of each colors.
I have a couple doily die that I used to use a lot, but haven't lately as I have so many now. Its just easier to use premade ones, then weed all the little pieces out. Same with silhouette. I feel like I use the premade ones so much more.
I have some in faux leather, canvas and some felt ones. So you can find them in different materials so your pages don't have the typical doily feel.
As some else pointed out your can start with white ones and ink or alter with mm to desired color. I also, will cute mine in half when layering so that I get more bang for my buck.
Lastly, quality is different for each name brand. Some of the michaels ones will tear if I am not careful when separating the stack. I have not noticed that with SC. If they do tear I tuck that area under.

I have 5” Cambridge ones that I bought from amazon, but I also have some from a local $2 shop and from M’s that I bought on my US trip last year. I almost exclusively use white (or off white) but I do have one pack of black ones. I mostly use 4” or 5” ones as I like them for layering under photos.
OP if you want to try the Cambridge ones I’d be happy to send you a few.

Another fan. Sometimes you can get the colored doilies in the party section at Michael's and Hobby Lobby.

I have coloured ones that I use from time to time. I think my favorite is bright yellow ones to represent the sun.
But white ones are easily to colour with inks or paint and are available in lots of sizes.

I bought a bunch of the Doodlbug packs with three other friends and we split the packs up four ways. I think I have all of the colors.
