Oh and I highly recommend a lighted magnifying makeup mirror. And a pair of tweezers because you'll find things...terrible things. Lol Is there one you would recommend? Sounds like something I need! Mine is nothing special but I love it. I think it's ihome brand from Bed Bath & Beyond. It has a Bluetooth speaker so I can listen to Pandora while I remove my facial hairs it has 2 sides, regular and 10x. And I never travel without my tweezerman tweezers!

It's not a pencil, but I love Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner in the chocolate shimmer ink color. The color is less dramatic than black liner and has great staying power. I find it easier to apply my liner with a brush than a pencil. This is my favorite too. The only thing is it dries up quick. YES. I hate how quickly the pots dry out now. I use mac's gel for black now because of this, but I can't find a color similar to the chocolate shimmer, so I suck it up and deal with the expensive pot that dries out no matter how tightly you close the jar 😠

I use the Clinique Pretty Easy eyeliner pen in brown (my eyes are green) and I love it. Very easy to apply. I find the black too harsh for daytime for my colouring.

I use a dark eyeshadow shade with a liner brush or thin flat brush and kind of press it into a line. Usually dry, sometimes wet. I prefer it to a sharp line.

Ok. Just assume that I am an idiot about makeup. I like the concept of makeup, but when I try to wear it, either my eyes itch and I rub it off, or it just seems to evaporate off my eyes. I like eyeliner on other people, but when I try I look like a toddler who got hold of a sharpie. The Elf cream sounds good, but do you just use the brush like a paintbrush? Also the reviews talked about a wet line. What is that? I cannot use pencil eyeliners. Perhaps due to my poor technique, resulting in crooked & broken lines, pencil eyeliners look harsh on my light complexion, which prompted me to use eyeshadow as eyeliner for so long. The e.l.f. cream eyeliner comes with a small angled brush (although I continue to use the MAC angled brush because it's familiar). With the bristles horizontal, I create a subtle cats eye (ie apply the cream eyeliner from the middle to outer edge of each eyelid along the lash line & make it thicker at the outer edge to visually lift my eyes). Note I do not line lower lashes at all, per the suggestion of the MAC consultant many years ago. The e.l.f. cream liner goes on smoothly & quickly. I was pleasantly surprised, given it is only $3!

I have gotten much worse over the years at doing pencil eyeliners. I get the same result you do, crooked and broken lines. Did the MAC consultant just advise mascara for the lower lashes? What is the reason she gave for not lining the lower lashes? Does it make eyes appear smaller? I feel my eyes almost "disappear" if I don't have eyeliner on the lower lash line. But I would love to be able to skip the lower lash line (crooked lines again with eyeliner). I am asking for a gift card to Sephora for Christmas so they can give me tips!

I use an small angled brush and a dark brown eyeshadow as my eyeliner ... it is very forgiving for those of us with less than perfect technique Which brand and type of brush? I have a "sharp" angled brush but it's a little hard for me to use. Maybe I don't have the right kind. I am also looking for a makeup mirror with lights and magnified. My brush is from elf ... super cheap at Walmart and works great ... it is about 1\4 inch and not sharp - just nicely angled ... if you are looking to spend a bit more the brushes from MAC are awesome ... I have a couple that I love and I know that they do a small angled brush

I use a lip brush for lining, it's small but not hard and gives me the right amount of smudge. Save

I cannot draw (or cut) a straight line even with a ruler, so I've always been pencil eyeliner challenged. The MAC consultant suggested that I use no eyeliner at all & only one coat, if any, of mascara on my lower lashes. Note my lashes are naturally long, full, & medium ash/brown, so they are visible & define the eye. The everyday partially-lined (from the middle of the eye to the outer corner), subtle cat eye, & mascara only on the upper lashes is intended to visually lift/open my eyes & not look harsh with my light complexion, no or neutral blush (due to rosacea), & natural/rosy lip. Give it a try! Use only a single coat of mascara on your lower lashes & partially lined/subtle cat eye/mascara on your upper lashes for a few days & see if you like the look on you. Have fun experimenting...

I use an angled brush and a dark eyeshadow...usually either really dark brown or purple, depends on the color of the rest of my shadow. I find eyeliner pens or pencils either smudge or make my eyes look smaller.

The only eyeliner that stays put on me is Marc Jacobs gel eye crayon eyeliner.

I also like the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner in chocolate shimmer. I have hazel eyes, fair skin and dark hair. I use an angled brush and get right between the lashes. It is a solid line but a subtle look. I can't do the traditional "tight line" because it makes my eyes blurry and smudges down to my lower lashes.
