With all these fun beauty/Ulta threads, I thought someone could recommend an eyeliner!
The past few years, my vision for up close has gotten worse, and I have a hard time putting on eyeliner. I use pencils, mostly Clinique and tried the Urban Decay Demolition that was recommended here. I still have trouble with both of them, and can't get a good line at all. I guess I'm looking for one the goes on easily.
I just saw on the Hot and Flashy youtube video (just discovered her and love her!) she likes the Clinique Pretty Easy Eyeliner Pen. Has anyone used it? I was considering getting it with my Ulta coupon, but it's expensive (for me) so want to see if anyone likes it.
Also, I have green/brown eyes and fair skin, dark hair. I usually use brown eyeliner, never tried black before (thought it would look too "harsh" on me). Any tips on color?
Gar had a good point, she asked if I wanted a "defined" line. I think for me a "softer" line would be better. I think a defined/or harsh line "ages" me more than a soft line would.

I started using a gel liner by maybeline with an angled brush. It is inexpensive and goes on very smooth. I also have a NYX matte pen that I use as well

I have vivid green eyes and wear black mascara. I have a really nice MAC eyeliner that lasts forever. I really like it. I only do a tiny line with it, but it really works well. It's one that you don't have to sharpen. The colour I have is Long Espresso. I don't recall it being that expensive and for me it works really well. Good luck!

It's not a pencil, but I love Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner in the chocolate shimmer ink color. The color is less dramatic than black liner and has great staying power. I find it easier to apply my liner with a brush than a pencil.

Do you particularly want a defined line? I quite often use a dark brown or grey powder with a small brush to define without the harshness of a liquid type liner. It's easier to apply 🙂

I use Maybelline 24 hour tattoo cream eyeshadow with a small brush to line my eyes. It doesn't budge and is available in lots of colours.

Givenchy makes a really good eyeliner. Doesn't smear, good fine line.

I use Stila in the Purple Tang color (I have brown eyes.). It's waterproof, doesn't need to be sharpened and goes on easily.

I have a light complexion with cool/pink undertones, blue eyes, & medium brown hair. I used a MAC dark brown eyeshadow (eg. Espresso), applied with a MAC angled brush, as eyeliner for over a decade; it wore off easily & irritated my eyes, especially during allergy season. On the suggestion of a stranger in the make-up aisle at Target, I tried & prefer the long-wearing, smudge-/water/foolproof e.l.f. cream eyeliner in Coffee ($3, & applied with the same MAC angled brush). I also use - rarely, of course - the e.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen to correct any application mishaps. ETA: www.elfcosmetics.com/p/cream-eyelinerwww.elfcosmetics.com/p/makeup-remover-pen

My coloring is similar to yours and I’ve been using the It eye pencil in black brown. I really like it.

I use the Bobbi Brown gel and an angled brush, and get great results. Much better than a pencil for me. I have it in the chocolate shimmer and in plum shimmer. Black is too harsh for me, I like a gray, brown, or plum with my dark brown/reddish hair, pale complexion and green/brown eyes. The plum brings out the green.

I really like Stila liquid eyeliner. I have it in brown. I also have some Urban Decay pencils that I like (less of a fine line, obviously).

My vision is not what it used to be, so I consider a 15x magnifying mirror part of my makeup tools. I like the small ones with suction caps and attach it to my makeup mirror.

I only use Stila Smudgesticks, usually the black in Stingray for cat eyes. Sometimes some of the other shades, can't remember the names. I usually soften the line with a bit of shadow applied over the top with an eyeliner brush.
I don't wear liner under my eyes, if I want color there I use eyeshadow with a small brush.

Oh and I highly recommend a lighted magnifying makeup mirror. And a pair of tweezers because you'll find things...terrible things. Lol

My sister started having trouble with eyeliner and she is now using a brush, as some above have said.
I use eyeliner pencils from Ulta (their brand) which come in a myriad of colors and really last a long time.

Bobbi Brown shimmer gel eyeliner in bronze shimmer would be beautiful on your eyes, I bet. Stila made a similar one that was in a pot with a little sponge that you applied with a brush, also in bronze shimmer, but I'm not sure if they're still making it.

I have a "sharp" angled brush but it's a little hard for me to use. Maybe I don't have the right kind. I am also looking for a makeup mirror with lights and magnified.

I don't know if I will be able to wait for Christmas to give them that!

Ok. Just assume that I am an idiot about makeup. I like the concept of makeup, but when I try to wear it, either my eyes itch and I rub it off, or it just seems to evaporate off my eyes. I like eyeliner on other people, but when I try I look like a toddler who got hold of a sharpie.
The Elf cream sounds good, but do you just use the brush like a paintbrush? Also the reviews talked about a wet line. What is that?
