Christmas Is just around the bend and I have some Amazon related questions. My family shares a prime account. Is there a way I can order things without everyone else on the account seeing to purchase?
My SIL is currently deployed and will be spending Christmas overseas. I have seen that Amazon delivers to military bases overseas. I know the delivery will not be fast but would be nice to send him some things directly from Amazon. I do a monthly care package but would love to send things directly from Amazon.
Thanks for the help.

It used to be that you could "share" your account with other household members. So my hubby and I have separate log ins. I can't see his stuff and he can't see mine, but it's all the same account. I don't know if you can still do that. Might be worth checking.
The other option is to buy the item and then as soon as you check out, go in to your order history and "archive" that order, which hides it from the main order screen.

We are on a shared account with MIL but we log in with our own info. We don't get access to all the prime freebies since we are not the main account holders. She doesn't see our orders. DH doesn't have his own account and uses my account log in so I see any orders he makes.

I have found if I click that it's a gift, it won't show up. I don't always remember to do that and my DH never remembers so I always see what he orders me since the emails come to my account.

Yes, you can still do this and it's what DH and I do. Otherwise, I'd get email notifications for gifts that the bought me, as my name and email is the main account. And day to day, I can't see how much coffee he is ordering (and get after him for drinking too much caffiene.) You can use different CCs, too. As for sending things overseas to an APO or AE box, it goes Priority Mail to CA or NJ (depending on where it's going), then the military takes it from there. I've found that it usually took about a week for DH to get packages when he was in Bagram. Of course, it's all mission dependent and outlying camps will take longer to get mail.

I'm not sure about the sharing of the account, but as far as the Military shipping, I think it's great! My son is Airforce and is deployed to an undisclosed location in Africa. When he got there Oct 4 he asked me to send him some items he knew he would run out of. Thanks to the Peas I heard about Amazon shipping to APO/FPO's and sent them to him via Amazon with free shipping on Oct 6th Yea! Tracking said that they were delivered on Oct 21 to his FPO. Unfortunately the military plane that actually delivers to his location was broken, so it took another week to get there. He texted me today and said he got it! He's so excited! His hootch (where he sleeps) doesn't have a router for wifi and he asked for one. The guys he shares the hootch with are super excited too! I'll be doing the same for his Christmas and Birthday gifts too.

Thank you everyone. I will look into the shared option with my own account. We always log into one but have our own pay information on one account.
I am glad to hear the delivery goes fairly smooth for military shipping. The packages I send typically take a month. This will be a great option.

You can share prime shipping by going to your account and then Amazon household and set it up. I have mine shared with my husband and my son. I think you can only share the shipping and downloaded media libraries, the secondary person doesn't get their own access to Prime video and other benefits that the main account holder does. I also think you can only share it with one person now.

My daughter and I share one...it's really her account which she gets through college at a discount. I have my cc info in there as well has her cc info. I wanted to order something for her but wasn't sure how to do it on the account without her seeing it. Think I will see what I can do. We both use the same log in as well.
