I saw an article in our paper yesterday announcing him as one of the contestants! He's a local optometrist and goes to my Zumba class! I saw him last night and acted like a silly giddy school girl....

I'm hoping it's as good as the original!

That's cool that you know one of the bakers. I hope it's good also. I had my pvr set awhile ago so I wouldn't forget.

What did everyone think? I liked that they had their names on their aprons!😁 In the cupcake challenge I liked that they used saskatoon berries, Nanaimo bar and of course maple such Canadian things.

While I thought it was good, I found the quality of the bakes(ers) a wee bit disappointing. I'm so used to the British version. When they opened the jars of jam, and used packaged cookies, I was surprised, and I was aghast when I saw that guy stirring his mix with his hands

I, too, thought the bakers were not as seasoned as they seem on GBBO or Irish or Australian bake off.
The battenburgs wer3 Not well done and some of the skills in the showstoppers were totally lacking.
I didn't like how one judge ate one cupcake and one ate the other. They really dropped the ball on the judging edits.
Not fond of the female host to be honest but I liked Dan Levy
Will give it another go for bread week.

If I were in the Canadian bake-off I would make Poutine Pralines Kidding, kidding! When we were living in Vancouver, my voracious sampling of maple-anything got a lot of strange looks. I wish we had lived in Quebec. SaveSave

I forgot about it. My daughter wants to watch it.
I had a whole slew of friends go through the audition process (Foodies make good friends!) but no one made it on. I particularly enjoyed the part where they obessively made sample foods to bring to the audition. Delicious!
