I don't understand what this reporter did that called for this violent lift-up/body-slam/knee-on-the-head arrest.
Oh, word is, the reporter is also a lawyer.

They will state that he was resisting and used justifiable force to handcuff him.

it looked to me like they were pushing him into that fence, and he was just trying to avoid getting his face mashed into the iron fence, not htat he was resisting giving them his arm!

Poor guy is really lucky his chin didn't get hooked on one of those fence spikes on his way down to the ground. Holy crap! I'm really wishing that police brutality lawsuits would start taking the payouts directly from police pensions instead of the tax payers. Thinking this would stop brutality pretty much in it's tracks.

Again I am not seeing the things you have been posting. if you can't see it, that might be because it's from a Twitter post with a video embedded in it. a reporter is filming something with his phone and apparently (it's hard to hear) swears a couple times at the policeman trying to get him to move, so they arrest him. And in trying to handcuff him-- it looks to me like trying to stay away from the fence- he's VERY close to getting impaled by his neck on an iron fence that they have him pushed up against-- but I guess they think he's trying to resist arrest, or something? and they very violently throw him to the ground. (I couldn't watch to the very end of it, it bothered me to see.)

That was a disgraceful mess of an arrest. The officers need re-training.

I just started watching the take-down part, again... there are basically two officers sitting ON the guy as he's laying on his stomach on the sidewalk, and they keep saying 'give me your hands' (meaning for him to put them behind his back). He says "I can't, you're sitting ON TOP OF ME" and then the officer basically sits ON TOP of the guy's head! crazy! Now there are about 4 or 5 officers all around / on top of the guy, and there's still another minute of footage yet to watch. This is awful. The officer has his KNEE ON THE GUY'S HEAD, pushing his face into the sidewalk, and the guy is yelling in pain. I can't watch any more of it.

All that force was totally unnecessary. SaveSave
