I still don't like it. It stamps poorly in the middle at the top of the platform. Somewhat better than the first one did, but not good. I paid for this in March... It was delivered in August and I still don't have something I can use.
imho.... The Misti never fails me... The TH Has been a complete disappointment. It isn't cheaper if it doesn't work well!
BTW... I spent over an hour working with it, try to get good images in this area (which is where I would line up a 4.25 x 5.5 card)

It seems really odd to me that some people have no trouble with their Tim Holtz platform, and others get poor results.
I own two of the TH platform. Both work well for me. I do my stamping on a sturdy wood table, but even before I got a platform, I did that, because it made a difference. (Stamping on a plastic table never worked well for stamping for me, with or without the TH platform). If it isn't your surface, it sounds like it is a manufacturing defect.
If it is a defective platform, there must be some reason that some work well, and some don't. Poor quailty control? Multiple molds with one or more being defective?
It would be so disappointing to have a defective one. And I suspect that Tim Holtz isn't happy that some of the platforms with his name on them are defective.

My Tim Holtz platform works really well, how disappointing for you that neither of yours did...

Mine works really well also. So sorry to hear that you've had issues with 2 of them!

Yikes. That's really not good! I'm so sorry you've only had trouble with this product. Mine works perfectly. The only problem I've had so far was due to Studio Calico manufacturing an alpha stamp set in which not all the letters had the same thickness so a couple of them just wouldn't stamp because they "hovered" above the others if I tried to stamp a word in one go. But that's not the platform's fault.

Having never tried a Misti I had nothing to compare to, but I love my Tim Holtz Stamping platform! I did struggle a bit on watercolor paper in the beginning but I've worked out the bugs on that and find myself reaching for my platform often.

Just a thought....do you have a friend that has TH's platform? If so, have them bring theirs over and both of you stamp the same image with each of you using your own platforms.
This just isn't right....

That would be an interesting test. It would be worth trying each other's platform to see if you get different results. If you have no friends with one, maybe you can post here to see if one of us is in your area that could.

The only problem I’ve had with my TH platform is large (6x4.5) don’t stamp completely. I just use an acrylic block for these. The rest are fine. Sorry you got 2 lemons in a row. Maybe the third time will be the charm.

I can't get my mini misti to stamp well at all, but my Tim Holtz press works perfectly. I work on an Ikea table that has 2 legs and the other half is on top of a set of drawers.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

I have a kitchen counter top as my table, so the surface is good... I am just using my Misti .... I wanted this one to be my travel staking tool.

I had to get mine replaced twice by tonic because the first two didn't work correctly but the third one works like a charm and I love it~
