So I'm redoing my oldest dd's room, as she finally moved out. I have an idea what I want from a picture I saw. We have one wall that has old grey wood/shiplap type on it. I want to paint the other walls a grey, and then have a red/black/grey flannel lumberjack type bedspread. I will post pic of where I'm getting my ideas from. Right now her room is a navy blue. Want to paint it a lighter, but warmer grey? Is there such a thing??
Here's my creative inspiration

If you just Google "warm grays" you'll find many, many links to warm grays and links to sites for specific paint company warm gray colors.

Cool greys have more blue in them. Warm greys tend towards beige.

Yes but I can't give you the name of a specific color. We redid DS's room (he also just moved out this summer after college graduation). The gray I chose has bluish undertones so it looks like a very cool tone. Others had greenish undertones and others had beige undertones (greige). That might be the undertone you need.
I would suggest grabbing as many different gray paint swatches as you can and put them all over the room you're painting along with the bedding. It becomes apparent quickly which look right or wrong with the lighting , existing walls/flooring etc and bedding.

I love, love BM Edgecomb Gray. It's a little bit softer and more adaptable than Revere Pewter IMHO. I have both in my house and much prefer the Edgecomb.

they're often termed greige - grey with beige. You might see if SW Mindful Grey or Requisite Grey works in your space.

What I did when I was looking for a warm grey for DS's bedroom, was pick out all of my sheets of grey Bazzill cardstock. I laid them in different places or stuck them to the wall. Once I had chosen one, I took it to get the paint mixed. It was cheaper and quicker than buying testers! I've also done this for friends who can't decide on colours or tones in different rooms. (You see, hoarding cardstock does come in useful.đ)

My favorite pale to light warm greys (in no particular order) are:
Benjamin Moore Classic Grey Benjamin Moore Grey Owl Sherwin Williams Agreeable Grey Sherwin Williams Repose Grey Sherwin Williams Colonnade Grey
Be certain to buy samples, paint poster board, & observe for several days in different lighting & with the specific bedding to find the color for your room. Best wishes!

I'd pick your bedding first, then have them match the gray. If it's too dark, have them go a few shades lighter.

Yes ours is Behr stonehenge I think it was I'd have to go out in the garage and look, our living room and hallway are that color. I wanna go slightly darker in the bedroom like your picture! I love the bed set too! Did you get that to match?

So, grey is actually not a color by itself. It's another color that's been desaturated. This means there are as many greys (and whites and blacks) as all the other colors combined. Daunting, yes? (This also means that there is no truly neutral grey color.)
For a "warm" gray, you will want to look for one with a yellow or orange undertone, as opposed to a blue or purple undertone. The bad news is that grey is much more likely to skew in your house... for example, my new house is surrounded by trees, so all of the sunlight coming in our windows is filtered through that green, affecting the colors. Best to just get samples, and start eliminating.
I think I started with about 20 paint chips, and narrowed it down to ten or so actual paint samples before I found the winner for my house. (Balboa Mist, for the record.)

The gray in the bedding on the pic you linked looks more like a cool grey to me. If you Google âscale of gray from warm to coolâ a bunch of image links will pop up. Yours looks more like the colors on the cooler scale on the right (blue undertones) than the warmer one on the left (yellow undertones).
I would get the bedding first, then bring it to the store to pick out paint chips that coordinate. Some places have a color scanner that they can use to exactly color match whatever you bring in, so that might be an option for you too.

All I know is I want the red flannel/plaid lumberjack look. Might even go red/black lumberjack print. We are in the land of paul and babe, and my dh is a logger, so I want the northwoods flannel look is all.

I have BM Briarwood in my living area and master bedroom. It is darker than what you are looking for. I tried a sample of Revere Pewter in the same area and in my house it took on a cool tone. I had a very hard time finding a gray that didnât have a strong pink, blue or yellow undertone. The lighting in the space can change a color so much.

With the bedding that you posted I don't think I would go for a blue gray. Try Sherwin Williams Repose Gray or another color on that color swatch. Jen.
