I live in a beautiful area in Northern California. Spectacular weather, views of the ocean and mountains every where I look and amazing trails to hike. It's also an area where I see entitlement often. The latest? Our neighborhood is having the roads repaved. We are constantly being updated about the status through emails, electronic signs, Facebook and word of mouth. Not to mention the construction team there every day directing traffic and answering any questions. My street was was supposed to be paved yesterday but one of my neighbors refused to stay off the newly poured street and drove on it. The reason? He didn't want to take the time to walk around the block and cross in an unpacked area. His defiance ruined his car's tires, ruined the road and pushed the schedule back. He's now going to receive a hefty fine from the county and there's an uproar on my street over him messing the schedule up. Who does this this kind of thing? I'm not sure which neighbor this was but I have an idea based on other things that a certain neighbor has done. Apparently he's upset that it's taking longer to finish this project by about 10 days. But that couldn't be helped as many of the people working on this live in the area where the fires were last month and that was their first priority as it should be.

Who does this this kind of thing? Dicks. Dicks do this kind of thing. I really don't see it as entitlement, it's just stupidity.

it wouldn't be hard to figure out who it was, the neighbor that has new car tires on his car would be a dead giveway . He deserves a hefty fine besides the angry of the neighborhood.

Thinking you are above waiting for a construction project like everyone else is definitely entitled! Selfish people suck, and usually it's the nice people who get stuck with the consequences and the entitled jerks don't. Sorry you all will have further delays, but at least this a**hole got some major consequences too! But I bet he will try to sue for the car damages or something!

Entitlement too nice for this scenario. He is a dick, pure and simple. And know the whole neighborhood knows he’s a dick.
Maybe they will spraypaint a penis on the side of his car and give him the finger when they see him. Ok Vandalism isn’t the answer....but he does deserve the finger. Probably not a good choice either as delicious as it sounds.
May his new tires be jinxed, he gets flats regularly. and you get to drive by and giggle about his Karma.

Do you live in Marin?
My eldest was born at Marin General Hospital and I still LOL at the tour. A lot of the other soon-to-be parents grilled the doctors on every minute particular. Does the baby have to get drops? Are you sure an infection can lead to blindness... OMG it was hard to keep a straight face.

If you hate entitlement, never work at the VA. I'm a veteran and I work at one. A more entitled group I have never come across in my life, and 90% of them did absolutely nothing and never went anywhere outside the US but purport to have every service related condition possible. I would write a book, but when I retire I hope to block it all out of my memory.

What a jerk. Maybe he should be mentioned in the next HOA newsletter so everyone can be sure to thank him for the delay.

When this project started in August, the utilities companies were here marking where the power and water lines were with pink and yellow temporary paints. Major safety reasons!! A few of the neighbors didn't like this so they scrubbed the markings off! Again, we were given plenty of information about what was going on but to get rid of these important markings because "they don't like them "? Oh my gosh.

You wonder how people like that were raised that would give them such a feeling of entitlement? What an ass! And he is probably the type of person who will try to sue for his tires being ruined, not seeing that he is the one who owes for the damage he caused to the project.

Entitlement drives me crazy. I see it EVERY other Tuesday when I take DH to Dana-Farber for chemo. Most appointments go: blood work > doctor appointment > treatment. And there is a LOT of waiting. A LOT. When you check in at blood work, they put a gps on you so they know if you're running late for something else they can look and say "oh, they're stuck at blood work, or the doctor is running late". We've never NOT had to wait and we've been doing this for years at this point.
Every time we go, there is AWLAYS someone screaming because they were supposed to see the doctor at 11am and it's now like 11:15am. They shouldn't have to wait. EVERY.DAMN.TIME. You know what, you're not the only one waiting here. Talk to me when you're supposed to see the doctor at 11am and it's going on 2pm and you're STILL waiting. Everyone is here because they are sick and everyone is waiting.....EVERYONE. We've had to wait 6 hours for pharmacy to mix his treatment because they were THAT far behind. I get it, no one likes to wait but yelling will NOT get you moved to the front of the line.
