I am going to have a lot of time in a couple of weeks (DH taking the kids on holiday for almost three weeks!) and I would love to do a sketch challenge class. I am really out of the loop on classes, but I enjoy using sketches and would love guided 'challenge' thing--not neccesarily a class, but something that would force me to scrap! thanks!!!

What kind of sketches do you prefer? I have an online that includes 10 sketches, but it is focused on using 4x6 photos.

Buy a sketch book or 2 and post your pages here. There are some used ones that are not too expensive on amazon.and we will bug you if you don't turn out a bunch of pages. I like the best of Becky higgins' sketches because it you choose by the # of pictures you have.

I second the scrapbook generation idea. I got their kits for a short time and I love the style but I have so much in my stash that I bought their 4x6 book and make my own kits using my stash and bag with the photos I want to use. They also have free sketches you can download. I use those as well. They are really easy to adapt to your own pic sizes and numbers, too.

But i like the idea of a group challenge where we all work on the same sketch. I like to see how other people interpret the sketch. Plus...the cameraderie. But thanks

I always start with KikiPea 's sketch/scraplift challenges. Then I check out Page Maps. Awhile ago, I found Grand Diva's Creative CornerLots of inspiration on Stuck?! Sketches And again, she has an archive. How about a Pop Up Crop? I enjoyed the last one you started with a new challenge every hour for a weekend. If you link a sketch, and then share your take on it, that will inspire others to try something different. Or we could do a chain challenge, the first person posts a sketch or challenge; and then if I take on that challenge, I have to pose a new one, and so on...

My craft room was the 'dump room' during the reno so i need a couple weeks to get set up again.

mamakoala, Scrapbook Generation has a FaceBook group - SG Scrap Squad. There are challenges there sometimes, and free sketches. That might be another fun way to get in the groove. Also, Scrapbook Generation's Allison Davis has 3 sketch classes, all of which I took and really enjoyed! Sketch Support was her first class and it really covers the basics on how to work with a sketch and how to complete a layout at various embellishment levels. Six by Six Paper Pads was her second class and all of these sketches use, ta da, 6x6 paper pads. You can of course cut down 12x12 paper if you are limited in 6x6. Photo Arrangement Replay is her third class. And it's my favorite...but I don't think you can just jump right into that if you are new to sketches. Allison Davis also announced she is released a 6x6 Part 2 sketch book sometime soon. She completed 43 layouts for it!!! A snippet of them is on her Instagram page. SG's Class Page on their websiteI work almost exclusively with sketches and all of these classes really helped hone my skills and taught me so much in how to work with a sketch to make it mine.

Anyone take the Elle studio sketch to finish class? I have all three. I've used several sketches from volume 1 and just printed volumes 2 and 3, so I hope to use them in upcoming weeks.
