Yes, DST ends and real time goes back. I think most people would like to end the time changes, but we can't agree to which one everyone prefers. I think if we can get past the idea is has to be either one or the other we can agree. But somehow politicians can't seem to realize we can just split the difference between the two. Clock time is an artificial concept to begin with that can be changed on a whim. Instead of moving it an hour just move it 30 minutes and be done with it. Exactly! And funny enough, the reason you stated (kids at the bus stop) is the number one reason why I like it light out earlier. My kids are out of school now, but I used to have to drive them to a bus stop (transfer students to another school). As I was pulling out, there were always kids racing to the bus and not watching for cars. I lived in fear that I would hit another kid, so I usually just waited for the bus to leave before backing out. I like the cosy evenings that the earlier darkness brings, but I feel like I don't get anything done after dinner. It seems like the half hour idea could be a good solution and just end all the debate and the back and forth.

I never said that’s why it was *started* but it’s one reason that I’ve heard repeatedly for why it’s continued.

Me too! They said on the news the sun would set at 5 something now! I hate that. All we do after dinner is just sit on the sofa because we are so tired and it feels like bedtime. I love spring forward! We are so energetic and productive when it is light out until after 9:00pm! I love the time of year when it is light out before 6:00am until 9:00pm. Some people love the darkness, not me. I have a very flexible schedule, because if I want to sleep an extra hour, I can just go to bed early or sleep later. I don't have a set bedtime schedule anyways, there are many nights where I lose sleep because we out, so the extra hour one night doesn't make a difference to me. If I worked full time I could see an extra hour even one day give me time to get stuff done though. I do hate darkness in the morning too, that's why I love the spring/summer. We must be twins!!! I assumed everyone loved daylight savings time and daylight later in the evening. But here, I feel like I am in the minority. So glad we are twins!

I'd be getting up in the dark no matter what, as my alarm goes off at 5 AM, but I do like not having to drive to work in the dark. This is me too. I get up at 5, it's dark then all year. But while I hate the darker evenings, I would much rather drive to school at 6:45 am when it is light.
