Two years ago I posted about painting magic bands after finding some ideas on the disboards. Final results:

We're headed back to WDW in a few weeks and I wanted to paint my band again. Decided to stick with the Cinderella theme (the castle above was mine) and this is how it turned out:

DDs and DH say they plan to paint their bands again too but haven't yet. Interestingly, when I was searching for ideas this time, DDs Stitch band - she painted it herself and was 13 at the time - came up on a few Pinterest boards! She got a kick out of that...
There are not that many photos out there of the new magic bands decorated. Do people not do this anymore? Do you decorate your bands?
(Edited to add a disclaimer: I cannot take any credit whatsoever for the design of either of my bands. I painted them myself but used ideas I found online!)

I wouldn't/didn't, but I do not have any artistic skill. I would buy one of the cute ones - when I had mine they were still brand new, so no fancy bands at the time. Now, if I could make mine look like yours, I would!

I had no idea that people painted these...when we went last year, a few people in our group got the little add-on decorations, but I never even knew about painting them. Yours turned out really cute! What type of paint did you use - just acrylics?

We were just looking at ideas today for ours. Yes, people do still decorate them. I have seen a ton on Facebook groups. Lots of bling and modge podge tips. Love your painted bands and hope you will share your new ones. Happy creating!

We got ours when they first started doing them so ours are just plain but we bought some Magic Bandits at the park when we were there. Once we were at the park we saw the fancy printed bands but we weren’t about to spend an extra $20-30 each just to have a decorated one.

What type of paint did you use - just acrylics? Yes, just inexpensive acrylic paint. Then a few light coats of a water based sealer/varnish over the top. The band from two years ago was used for six days and held up pretty well - but there are a couple tiny chips and cracks near the ends where it was repeatedly fastened and unfastened. Some people use nail polish but I don't know if that yields better results or not. I think others use duck/washi tape, or temporary tattoos/rub ons.
