There are no details yet, the news was just leaked on Splitcoast. I wonder if it will be the Tonic platform - SU has sold Tonic products marketed under the SU name before. I can post more details as I come across them. Edited to add: Here is a video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3teCr7Xo4G8&feature=youtu.be&app=desktopIt's unique - I haven't finished watching the video yet, but it's different than the others. It's also black, which I like. It's going to retail for $49 U.S. and $65 Canadian. It's called the Stamparatus. They will do pre-orders for the first time ever - I read that it's a 3-month wait. Edited again: I love it - it has 2 lids so you can alternate stamps much easier - you have to watch the video to see what I mean. The way the lids move down the hinges is also really cool. It seems like you can do so much more with it, or at least easier. It also comes with 2 bar magnets.

I'm willing to bet that during the full moon phase, the Misti witch is boiling all her SU ink pads in a cauldron somewhere.

Iliana's head must be exploding right now. I have a feeling this item will be hard to get at first though. I'll be pre ordering it as soon as they open pre-orders.

It's actually kind of neat that it has two reversible plates.
I'm sure after all the previous hullabaloo SU! did a lot of i dotting and t crossing before announcing this.

I really love how they improved on it so that it is even more versatile. I will get it for sure!

It looks like they'll have 3 pre-order periods - did they mention that in the video (I had to watch it with the sound off)? They are as follows:
Nov. 16 - Nov. 30: Ships Feb. 1 Dec. 5 - 30: Ships March 19 Jan. 15-30: Ships April 15.
Ships dates are approx.

Hmmmm, what a dilemma for some of the Splitcoast Stampers - many of them are hard core SU but they are also hard core MISTI supporters. Interesting.
I will have to check this one out and then might have to get it. I wish I wouldn't have gotten both of my scoreboards before they came out with theirs!

SCS has always been, first and foremost, a stampin up heavy forum. They have a whole range of SU demo forums, after all. But they are also cheerleaders for MSP to the point where people who speak out against it are essentially banned . What a conundrum.

Oh my gosh, thanks for the laugh - I can just picture the internal struggles, lol. I feel the same way about my scoreboards - I went from the Score-It to the Score-Pal, so there's no way I could justify buying the SU scoreboard when it came out, but I still really, really want it.

So 2 things jump out at me after watching the video.
1) It looks like it takes up a ton of desk space to use, and to take the lids off and turn them around, etc. Seems cumbersome.
2) You can't store it with the lids on or they will break? Again, that's clunky to me.

Again, that's clunky to me. Somewhat agree - although the desk space if using only one plate isn't any worse than the Tim Holtz platform. I don't really think I'd use the "take the lid off and turn it around to stamp the next layer" - much easier to just use the stamp in a different area of the positioner on the same side and move the paper around. But, since you need the pad to stamp clear stamps, it's not as easy to line up your paper unless you're up in the only corner. Not a fan of having to store it with the lids off, either. The first thing I'd have to do is make a case to keep it in. I did like the part where she moved the plate down to the next hinge to do repeat stamping. You'd be able to do a much longer strip than you can with the MISTI. My first reaction was that I was going to have to order it, but I've cooled down a bit and I don't think it will actually be any easier to use than my Tim Holtz platform, or my Hampton Art MISTI imitation. And both of those were less expensive; if the Tim Holtz moves into big box stores (which I can't imagine that it won't, eventually), it will be even more reasonably-priced with a coupon. Have to say, though, that I give big kudos to Stampin' Up for what they've come up with. It's enough different from the others that are out there that you could make a case for needing it as well as whatever else you have. And, because I'm not a nice person, I am secretly enjoying the reactions that I'm imagining from the Stampin Up demos who are also MISTI fans. Isn't the community manager over there in tight with the MISTI creator and also a Stampin' Up demo?

I'm even worse - I started with the Scor-Pal, then picked up a Martha Stewart board with a coupon, then had to have the Scor-Pal Mini, then the Martha Mini, then acquired the small version of the Score-It, and I STILL want the SU board. I have the diagonal insert for it (which fits in the Martha board), but I cannot get past wanting the board with the little markers. It's a disease.

I guess if my TH platform worked perfectly I might wait on this one until next year. We will see if this one works any better for larger stamps.

Interresting. I like some of the features, but it seems as though the two open sides are truly open. On the Tonic, there is a sort of frame built into the lid over the open sides. That gives support IMO, so the lid is unlikely to crack with normal use.
Having those two sides open on the Stamparatus with no support on the lid makes me wonder if the pressure on the lid will be uneven when stamping in that open area. It may or may not affect the stamping (possibly for the better), but I am wondering if the lid would eventually crack with ordinary use.
I do like the two lids, and the ability to move the lid down to make a pattern. That was smart. The storage issue of having to remove the lids would not bother me.
I'm happy with my Tonic platform, though, so I will probably pass on the Stamparatus. The Tonic does what I need, at least for now.
I'll admit that the idea of the Splitcoast Stampers board having a quandery (over which stamp platform to support) did make me chuckle a bit.

The size is 7x7 so it's not too big, in my opinion. The hinge stamping feature is what I'm most excited about!! There isn't another stamp positioner on the market that has this feature that I'm aware of.
I think the Stamparatus could be an excellent Christmas gift for those who don't mind waiting a bit for a great tool!

I am really excited about this product! The video shows some really cool features, and I love the bar magnets! They are bigger than the Misti magnets and will hold the paper better, IMO.

For those who prefer bar magnets, or even want to get additional magnets, Michaels sells thin, very strong round magnets, and I think they also had bar magnets.

Individual companies may hate having to compete, but the customers definitely get more choices. Even though I'll stick with my TH platform, I love to see new ideas and adaptations.

I was peeking at SU's site last night. I was thinking if they were going to add a stamp platform to their next catalog. I am super excited. I love it. I haven't picked up Tim's platform yet. I know, I know. Ugh, blame it on my house. She decided she needed repairs. She's a good house and I love her so she gets spoiled when DH & I do repairs. I agree with you all Iliana's head must be exploding. ROFL! Well, that's what she gets with her bad attitude. She could have played nicely and been a lady about it. Crafter's and Artist's always buy multiples of the same type tools to fit their needs. I am now thinking of getting Tim's and the SU one. MISTI is lovely and she could have really taken it to some nice improvements over the years. Now, I think she has boxed herself in a corner. If she tries to improve she might get sued. The companies will have the upper hand because of her history with lawsuits and threats.

I like that this has bar magnets vs having to buy one for my TH press, but I'm going to stick with my TH as its lid can be stored on the base. Its price is negative for me as well. I got my TH on sale for $30. (although I did get one of those mini Misti's for Christmas last year) I just don't do enough layered stamping for it to be useful to me.

That is a lot of moving of plates for acrylic/plastic hinges. I would be afraid they would break too easily with all that movement.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I am so disappointed with my TH stamp platform that I doubt I will buy anything else until long after it has shipped and I see raving reviews! I jumped and pre-ordered the TH platform, had it replaced recently because it was stamping so badly, and am still not loving it. Yes, I am using it and trying to "love" it, but truth be told (and I am absolutely cringing as I say this), I would buy another Misti! GASP! I know, I know... I hate the customer service and all that has been done by this woman, but at the end of the day, the only complaint I have with her product is that the cracking! HUGE issue I know, but mine is one of the very first ones shipped and I think that she's got that under control now.

I like the idea of having two stamping blocks on this. I have the stampaholic and TH platform. I agree about waiting on reviews before buying. But I may add this to my collection of tools.

I am debating waiting but my demonstratorship is always in question (I'm a hobby demo and can't afford to keep myself active on my own, so I rely on my few customers) so I will probably preorder so I can get it now while I'm still a demo and get the discount. If not for that I would probably wait for reviews. What the heck. I have a misti, a TH, a mostly animals old style and a homemade ikea frame positioner. Why not this one.
