Anyone have a story to share to make this grandmother feel better?
My granddaughter got her first tooth at 15 months...yup, 15 months! Her four front teeth, two top and two bottom, erupted within 3-4 months. Over the last 6 weeks she got four molars. I know all kids are different and all that but I’ve never heard of a kid teething in this order and so slowly! Her pediatrician isn’t concerned at all. She’s been the healthiest little person ever with a total of 3 days in her 21 months where she had sniffles or a low fever. She’s never had an ear infection or been on any medication aside from Tylenol.

Trying to remember when teeth came in on my boys... Your pediatrician is so right. Don't worry. Kids all do their thing when they decide to. I'd be more worried about delayed hearing or possibly speech than teeth. If she is healthy, life is good! My youngest was so pokey slow to do anything. We thought the first one was a genius and the second was, well, he was special! He didn't even try to walk until 15 months. He's working on his electrical engineering degree right now. Apparently slow walkers can be really smart later in life!

Teeth are so weird. I can't remember exactly when my kids got their teeth as babies, not exceptionally early or late. But both were late losing them. Ods was only slightly delayed, but youngest is over 7 and still not a loose tooth in his tiny little mouth. Dentist isn't worried so I'm just enjoying his smile before it turns into that awkward big/little/gap tooth mismash.

I know the order can be funky as my son had his canines before his front teeth - he looked like a baby vampire.

Both my dds started teething at 12 or 13 months. Then the teeth started coming 8n 2 at a time. The pediatrician said it's actually better to start teething later rather than younger.

My kid got her baby teeth really late, and she was one of the last kids in her second grade class to lose her first tooth too. Her first two permanent teeth on the bottom front were actually coming in BEHIND her baby teeth! Freaky.

My DDs got their teeth early - like 3 months onwards— so my grandson’s coming much later has been a surprise to me. He got the bottom front two at about 7 months and nothing since. He’s a year now and has got 4 ready to break through any day. They really all are so different. The paediatrician will have seen so many variations that she really is right when she says don’t worry 🙂

When ds was a baby I asked when to expect teeth. Dr. said to find out when dh and I got teeth and split the difference. Dh and I both got teeth at 14 months. Ds cut his first tooth at 3 months and proceeded to get more at an alarming rate. By age 1 he had 16 teeth. Which he then started grinding and causing cracks in the back ones which led to 9 cavities that were revealed after his first set of xrays at 3.5. Grr. Fortunately no further problems.
Once I cut my first tooth my mom said I remained super slow to get them. I also lost them super late - my 4th grade picture is the one with the giant partially grown in front teeth. Nice.

Mine were all well past 1 when they cut their first teeth. Their pediatrician was thrilled. The less time teeth are exposed to bottles the less time for damage from the sugars.
He said that late teeth are usually healthier teeth!

My youngest ds is 19 months. He didn't get his first tooth till 16 or 17 months. He got one lower one, then his upper molars. Slowly his four main uppers have started coming in, in the meantime two bottom molars and another 2 lowers have started coming in. When at his 15-month appointment he didn't have any teeth the pediatrician said that if by 18 months he didn't have any that we would have to talk to a pediatric dentist. Thankfully they started coming in, I also had my dentist, that also does my kids, look when we were in and he said not to worry!

A friend of mine once told me that the later a child's teeth come in, the healthier/stronger the teeth are.

Older son got teeth late. He never had a cavity until adulthood.

My oldest cut 8 teeth in a week, right around the time he was 6 months old. Youngest didn't cut any until after a year. He is a healthy 34 year old with a full mouth of teeth.

My dd got her teeth at 9m. She is 8 and has only lost 4 teeth so far. The first was close to her 8th bday.

Not that late, but late coming in (9-10 months I think) and late falling out. MY 17 year old had to have his last 4 baby teethed pulled so he could actually start braces. My 15 yo still has 5 baby teeth, and can't start the next step of braces yet either.

My youngest daughter, third child, didn’t cut her first tooth until she was about 18 months. I was so stressed about it and was convinced there were none in her head, but our pediatric dentist assured me they’d come through, and they eventually did .

It can be hard not to worry about the little things when it comes to kids. I remember worrying about my oldest son's teeth when he was little. Try not to worry. Sometimes these things just do their own thing.

It was after a year for DD. My MIL went to Greece when DD was 12 months old and she left extremely concerned that DD didn't have teeth or any interest in walking (she was a master crawler and furniture surfer). When she came back 6 months later teeth were in and she was walking. 😂
I know DD was really slow to loose her teeth and one of the few that didn't get recognized on the classroom tooth chart in either K or 1st grade.
