Agreed. Brandon's collection is my least favorite. I'm surprised how much I love Ayana's. I also loved Margarita's.
I would have a hard time deciding between Ayana's and Margarita's. I love them both for different reasons.
Back to the show......

Really on Anya? I don't see anything really original? the ruffled dresses are just ugly!

Ayana's "wedding dress" is beautiful. I also loved the one Nina mentioned, the ruffled top with the pant/skirt.
Even if Brandon doesn't win, the exposure the show gave him is enough to launch his line.

I'm pretty sure Brandon will still win, even though I think his overall collection was not the best. The whole influence thing, and trend setting will win it for him.

Would a young female really want Brandon’s outfits? Way too much fabric for the ones I see at the mall. Totally blah.

Didn't see this one coming. Thought for sure Brandon had it. It was that damn print he used in every outfit.

So who won? Some of us can't watch it on line anymore because they locked the episodes unless you have cable.

So who won? Some of us can't watch it on line anymore because they locked the episodes unless you have cable. Kantaro (sp?) won. I did think his collection was beautiful. I thought so during the home visits. It’s amazing hat a dead cat can do for you. I thought Margarita’s collection seemed very costumey. I felt sure she wouldn’t win. I thought they would go with Ayana. That finale dress as breathtaking, but the ruffley prairie dresses did nothing for me. Poor Brandon. I think he got a little too sure of himself.

Kentaro’s collection really was breathtaking. I thought it was interesting the judges thought his new garment was out of place. Which reminds me that I’m glad they didn’t throw in that extra last minute challenge or bring back eliminated designers to help. Brandon never received any criticism through the whole season until the finale and it was mostly about his color palette....pretty much the same one he used all season. Margarita’s collection looked much better than I expected but I don’t think she had any business being there with her bad finishing on the last two challenges before being sent home. But I git chills that her family made it to NY. I was surprised Ayana was in the final two considering there were 2-3 looks all of the judges disliked but her final gown was a true show stopper. I can’t wait to see the reunion.

I think Ayana's collection could have won if she had used less drab prints. I did not care for her color/print choices and I agree with the judges about the second and third looks.
Margaritas collection was definitely fun!
Brandon, I did love him but I would not wear his clothes...the judges adored him and I think he brought something new. I liked his print and color but he needed a wow andba bit more variety. Even if he used the flamingos in black and white or something or did something more unexpected with the leather...
I'm happy for Kintaro. He was my second favorite. I know it's probably the language barrier, but he didn't seem all that excited to win!

BRandon’s fabric was awful. I can’t belueve the judges didn’t comment on the flamingos and that it was home decor fabric.
Margerita’s was fun and bright but too vacationy to win.
Ayana’s fabric and her ruffle dresses were awful. Her solid fabric looks were really good though. As soon as she said she thought she could win it I knew she was out. Same with Brandon.
Kentaro’s seemed the most runway style. His pink Long pleated look was leather. Didn’t realize it during last week’s show or I tuned it out.
Did you see his dad fall off the stage at the end. Poor guy.

I loved it.
I would wear several of Ayana’s pieces they were beautiful
I would wear several of Kentaro’s pieces - which shocked me. I can see the influence of his culture but I also see the influence of his friendship with Brandon. It’s like he takes Brandon’s layers & art and makes it real?
I probably can’t wear any of Brandon’s collection but it was beautiful - it was thoughtful and new and interesting, I can see people my DD’s age wearing all of that. - I love Lyris
Margaritas collection was lovely- it was pretty & well made. She’s come a long way. I’m probably prejudiced because I’d never wear any of those prints & colors.
But all in all I thought it was a fantastic finale
I was shocked that the final 2 both had collections I loved & would wear many parts of. That never happens. The judges never ‘agree’ with me. Lol

Just looking at the first page, I would actually wear the sequin pants. The hooded cozy looks comfy.

I was thinking about this last night. Did Kentaro have a plus model outfit?? I don't even remember it? I think everyone had one, so I'm wondering which outfit it was.
Just looked at the JCP page. Wow, they actually did a good job and bringing that collection to retail.

We loved Kentaro from the beginning so I'm thrilled.
Brandon blew it. He could've won it all and his collection was so boring to look at.

I'm so happy for Kentaro. I loved his collection. It was stunning.
Brandon's was cool, but fabric choice was wrong.

Love Kentaro, loved his stuff. He is super creative. I liked Ayana as well, the right 2 were up there at the end. Now that I think about it, I wonder how the JCP prize played into the decision. His styles were probably more cost effective to produce and had broader appeal. It was a great season!

I'm happy (and a little surprised) that Brandon didn't win, due to the season-long Brandon love fest. I thought Margarita gave great answers to the judges when asked why she should win, etc. And, I can't wait until the reunion show! The Twins!

I love Brandon’s style and I would totally wear his clothes. Just not in flamingo fabric. I thought it was lame of the judges to praise him all season and then blow him off. Why didn’t they give him constructive criticism? That being said, I thought Kentaro’s collection was lovely. Ayana’s fabrics were awful and I can’t stand garish resort style clothes.

This link contains pics of everyone's collections, including the decoys. The first mess I assume is Michael's; Kenya's is right after that. PR NYFW collectionsI enjoyed that this season's finalists all had completely different aesthetics, and they all seemed like decent human beings. Once those twins were out, I wasn't rooting against anyone, and I think an argument could've been made for any of the final four to win. I loved Margarita's collection! Hurray for color, and I loved Jazzmine whipping off that skirt on the runway. I really hope PR continues to use models of varying sizes from here on out; that was one of my favorite things this year. Ayana's - like others, I would've preferred to see some color. It all seemed so drab and sedate, and some of the long ruffly pieces reminded me of the dresses that FLDS women wear. Her street wear looks are great, though, and I thought it was fun to see a modest designer go the distance. Loved her big wedding-esque dress! Brandon - Part of me thought he'd win anyway (sort of like whatever season Leann won with a bunch of boring blue petals), but I wasn't actually surprised, because the editing for second half of the season showed everyone else commenting about him being overconfident, yet he continually stayed near the top. I liked the flamingo print; I think if he pulled the blue out and used it for some of his solid color blocks, he would've won, but oh well. I found his shapes interesting. I could see my 20yo dd wearing his designs, and I'd love to have him make me a coat. Kentaro - I was surprised that he won, but I thought he was adorable, and his collection was a fun mix of oddball and wearable. I got a kick out of how he had a different inspiration explanation each time he spoke about his collection. I may actually buy that JCP skirt! I'm looking forward to the reunion show and can't believe I'd forgotten about those twins already. I enjoyed this season more than I have in a while.
