After watching it all, I'm happy Kentaro won. He took criticism, and made his changes. In the end, he had a very cohesive collection I thought.
Brandon was so sure of himself, and didn't take the criticism as well. He was too cohesive in his fabric, that his collection was just boring. And although I am not his target girl with his designs, they were awesome during the season. His girl is cool.
Ayana should be proud, and she'll be successful as a designer! She showed so much growth.
Margarita...well, I'm not a fan really. I get you're from Puerto Rico, but I didn't like her designs...

Firstly - WTF was Heidi wearing? I know her signature style is 'short, tight and shiny" but this had all the worst aspects of that and more. I bet if a contestant had made that all the judges would be "questioning their taste" and would have sent them home for that dress. Super short, boobs out, giant bow on the side, purple and sparkly, looked like it was designed by a 10yo for a Barbie doll. She's stunning and has an amazing body, but she can sure wear some shockers.
As for the show...I'm in the minority!
I loved Brandon's collection, although I didn't love the print, but make those clothes in solid colours (especially black) and I'd be all over it. I love the asymmetrical looks and love all the crap hanging down. I would 100% wear some of his pieces. I thought he was the clear winner.
I thought Margarita was a close second. I thought her collection was fun and she did that retro thing so much better than Kelly from a few seasons ago. As her looks came out I actually thought she might win.
I really didn't like most of Ayana's - I thought a lot of her fabric choices were ugly and some of the fabrics were WAY too clingy and made the models look lumpy & frumpy, I only liked that two piece sporty one and the final look. The patterns and frills on those long dresses were hideous.
As Kentaro's looks walked, I named it the "asylum collection" It looked like crazy people trying to rip heir way out of straight jackets & coupled with that funeral music it was beyond depressing. I think the judges got it wrong that people were silent because they loved it so much - I think they were asleep. I'm shocked that he won, and don't think it was the right choice at all....but then I rarely agree with how this show ends.
Bring on All Stars...where the 'right' designer usually does win. ETA, in the reunion show it looks like the twins are really called out, finally...and I'll be REALLY pissed off if they are brought back for All Stars...

DH and I said the same. It was hideous! DH asked if they made it out of wrapping paper at the last minute!

Ahem. To borrow an oft-used question in celebrity magazines: "Who wore it better?" Minnie Driver wore this a couple weeks ago on the new reboot of the TV show "Will and Grace." Of course, her character on that show has always been a grasping, tacky, nouveau riche mistress...

Minnie Driver wore this a couple weeks ago on the new reboot of the TV show "Will and Grace." OMG I saw that episode...I did think I'd seen Heidi's dress before but totally forgot about this. You are right, they are almost identical. I bet there was a lot of cringing when the PR people saw this!

When I saw Heidi in that dress I thought "and I'm supposed to take your ideas about fashion seriously?"

Sometimes I think Heidi must be punking us with the things she wears! That dress would have been hideous even in the 80s. And her hair! Awful.
I thought Kentaro had a beautiful, cohesive collection. It really told a story with the silhouettes, texture and color. These are the things he should have been designing all season, instead of copying Brandon's silly straps.
I did feel bad for Brandon, since he was the clear front runner all season. His collection just didn't have enough variety to be interesting. Still, he will go on to do great things, and is probably the most marketable and innovative designer.
All of the finalists were very deserving to be there. Margarita and Ayana both have a point of view that will bring them success.
I loved this season! Except for those ridiculous no-talent twins. The show is back on track after they derailed a few seasons ago. Still, there are some past designers that no one has come close to in the later seasons.

I’ve loved Brandon’s work all season. Unfortunately, I think he became complacent and didn’t try hard enough. The shot of him napping while others were stressing over every detail said it all. Not only was the fabric boring, but the fashion details were minimal and repetitive. Kentatos collection wasnt to my taste, but I respect the choice.
