I haven't seen anything posted lately. How's everyone doing? WHAT have you been doing? Have you settled into a new routine if you have kids that are back to school? I had a solid two weeks where I just went to $hit. I put on 5 lbs. Well part of that gain is PMS/period stuff. But still. I HATE to see the scale up. So when I saw how much it was up, I got myself right back on track. Kids went back to school last week and my work schedule was wonky (I work for a daycare that takes only teacher's children so I covered a lot of the days to help everyone adjust). This week has been more like it will be from now on. I work Mondays and Thursdays so on those days, I'm not sure if I'll fit in much of a workout. Maybe after soccer is over I can. LOL The girls are playing and have practices and games quite a few nights. I did work out yesterday (walked 3 miles) and today (did some weights and cardio in my basement gym). I'm back to normal healthy eating and cutting out the extra snacking. I'm back down almost 3 of those 5 lbs in just a couple of days. Makes me hopeful that I'll be back where I was by the end of the weekend. I'm REALLY struggling with finding healthy meals that I can make ahead of time for the nights that we have soccer. We have to eat at 4:30 or wait until after soccer. I don't like waiting until after because it's generally 7pm before we eat dinner. The kids go to bed at 8:30-9:00. I'm not a huge fan of the crockpot but I did throw together some pepper steak in there for tonight and I made enough so hopefully we can have it again tomorrow night. Open house tomorrow night so we'll be gone during dinner time again. My goal for this week is to simply stay on track eating wise and work out 3-4 times. I'm halfway to my working out goal already and been good with eating. Just need to keep the momentum going!!

I haven't stepped on the scale in awhile, but continue to go to WW weekly. Go figure.
Yesterday was "day 1" for me. I managed to stay on program and track everything.
Baby steps!

My best make ahead meal trick is to make a very large salad and to keep it in the fridge in this sharper image salad spinner. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BZ2YT68/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1535523722&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B007G2R8QO&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0931P92Z6CWTKEJ4ZVWWI bought it I think for like $25 at TJMaxx or Marshall's. I don't use the slicer part. Just the spinner and drainer part. I wash the lettuce chop it, spin and pour out the extra liquid. Leave in in the strainer part, then I add all the rest of my salad ingredients (tomatoes, carrots, cucs, red cabbage, radishes, etc) and pop on the lid. The salad will keep for several days and be nice and crisp (instead of all wilty and brown). Not sure why. Maybe from the moisture in the container? I then can add various toppings (Costco roast chicken, homemade chili- that had been frozen in single serve containers, taco meat, etc) My favorite topping to add is ... I buy and de-bone and entire Costco roast chicken while it's still warm. All the skin, bones, etc go into a stock pot along with an onion,, stalk of celery, etc and make chicken broth to use for soup. I typically use the dark meat chicken from above, chop it, add a large package of peas, and a box of rice a roni to make chicken and rice. Brown the vermicelli as per the directions. Add the chicken broth, chopped chicken and frozen peas and cook until rice is tender 15 mins? A whole meat in one that is best the next day. Just nuke until hot. (meal [HASH]1) The rest of the costco chicken gets sliced up and used with the green salad above for those that will eat salads. And for sandwiches or wraps (aka my picky dd's) for those that will not. In the winter, I use some of it for soup. But it's 95 degrees out, so no soup for a while. (meal [HASH]2 and meal [HASH]3)

I've "fallen off the wagon" the past couple of weeks, myself. I need to get my head in the right place.

After getting my blood work back 3 weeks ago, I have been working on a healthier lifestyle. I am consistant during the week with my food log and excerising every afternoon but the weekends are tough for me. The week is easier since I work at a health clinic and I'm surrounded by like minded people but when I go home it's harder. DH isn't on board with the whole "healthier eating" plan so preparing meals that work for all of us is difficult.
I'm hoping little by little he will get on board cause he does need to also.

I fell apart mid July, trying to get back on track. I'm even missing exercise maybe I'll accomplish something this time. It might be time to admit WW is not right for me.

I lost 25 pounds in June and have kept it off. Vacation is done and school has started, so I can get back in my routine and not have so many temptations. I'm starting again just today on my eating plan to start losing again. I'm starting a blog to document my progress and keep me more accountable. Slow and steady . . .
Good luck to all in your weight loss/fitness goals!

I lost 20 lbs. this year on WW, and my goal for vacation was not to gain it back. We stay at a ranch that serves three squares with dessert at lunch AND dinner, and every year I've come home with an extra five pounds strapped to my butt. This year I decided to make breakfast strictly berries and yogurt and to only have a bite of my husband's dessert. I also requested half portions of meat with dinner. The good news is I didn't gain anything at all on vacation. Whew! I'm determined to keep these 20 hard-won pounds off and possibly lose another five along the way.

DH isn't on board with the whole "healthier eating" plan so preparing meals that work for all of us is difficult. I'm hoping little by little he will get on board cause he does need to also. Does he do the cooking or do you? I don't know how it works at your house but I do 99% of the cooking. While my dh has been SUPER supportive, if he hadn't been he wouldn't have had much of a say. LOL I do the cooking and he eats what I cook. Granted, I don't make stuff that I know for sure he doesn't like...but he likes grilled lean meats, brown rice (neither of us are HUGE fans and honestly that helps us keep portion control), grilled/steamed/oven roasted veggies. I just don't make the unhealthy stuff an option anymore. Yes, we have days where we don't eat super healthy (we had boxed macaroni and cheese last night) but most of the time we do. I also just switched the way I made things...for example, mashed potatoes. Non-healthy way would be to throw in a whole stick of butter, some half and half or heavy cream, some cream cheese, salt & pepper along with the potatoes. Now, I use just a few tablespoons of butter (I refuse to give in to light butter in some areas and mashed potatoes is one) and 1% milk. Yeah, they're not as rich and creamy but they're still good. No one complained and it's WAY healthier. Also, I only use extra virgin olive oil or spray. No veggie oil, canola oil, etc. Anyway, I'm happy to hear you're trying to live a healthier lifestyle. It's hard to make the switch initially but it gets easier. Portion control is a big one for me so I bought a 1/2 cup serving spoon at Sam's for $6 and I use that baby ALL the time for side dishes.

We did lots of fun stuff and I gave in to way too many temptations. Honestly, I was pretty happy with only a slight 5 lb gain. I've managed to keep all that I lost between January and June off. And I've mostly maintained July & August. I'm hoping with the schedule back in place and time to exercise, I can see another 15-20 lbs gone before Christmas.

I'm so glad you figured out a way to make it work yet still enjoy it! Not that we go out to eat a lot but I've found that when we DO go out, dh and I often split a meal or a couple of appetizers. My mind still THINKS that I can eat a lot of food but realistically, I cannot. If we were to go someplace and I get a salad and have a roll, I only need 10 bites of an entree and I'm full. So I'm trying more and more to split things so I can still have a nice meal out but not feel horribly overfull or bring home a bunch of stuff.

brandy327 - I do all the cooking during the week. On the weekend he usually BBQ's but I do all the other side/prep things. It's not that he doesn't like what I cook, it's just he will then snack on crap afterwards. I have cut back on buying it but he will still buy it if he is at the store. I'm not going to nag him because he has to make this choice on his own - i'm just hoping sooner than later.

I am hovering around the same weight, as of last Saturday, I was 10 lbs from my goal weight, and it seems like it's going to take me 10 years to get there!
I have found 3 new classes at the gym that I like and I think they're making a huge difference in my fitness level, but so far not translating into actual weight loss. I'm kind of OK with that because I'm finally in a "normal" weight range, but I really would like to someday make my goal.
The bad part about the classes is that they are at 5:30, which means I don't get home from work until at least 6:45, and I really like to eat kind of early. I have been doing more prep ahead of time, like tonight, we are having chicken fajitas, and the chicken is cut up and marinating, and the peppers and onions are all cut up and ready to cook and assemble when I get home. Last night we had kebabs on the grill. I made the sauce the night before, cut up the meat, and then when I got home, started the grill and assembled while it heated up. I have also cooked casseroles the night before for DH and DD to heat up on nights that we have a quick turnaround after I get home for a second activity.

I don't fancy myself having a sweet tooth but it's difficult to see him sit down night after night after night having something sweet. I've found that treating myself to something like a graham cracker sheet or a few of the sweet goldfish or some frozen yogurt is still a treat but isn't laden with calories & fat like what dh is eating. I hope he comes around to the healthy eating too. My father passed away at the young age of 51 due to colon cancer. He smoked heavily and ate like crap his entire life. I think both were huge contributors to his death. Hi brother, my uncle, died before the age of 50 because of morbid obesity. I REFUSE to let myself to get that point, KWIM? While there's no guarantees in life, I'm sure as hell going to do what I can to lessen my chances. Hang in there! And if you're having a hard day, message me!!

So meal prep is HUGE for me because those nights that it's later, I'm tired and usually feeling lazy and it's SO easy to eat off track. I try to do as much prep as I can either the night before or the day of (if I don't have to work).

I try to make enough protein for dinner the day before soccer so that I don't have to cook on soccer nights. Last night I grilled drumsticks & veggies and the kids had it with brown rice. Tonight DS will eat a couple of drumsticks, yogurt & a banana before practice and then more drumsticks after with a salad (romaine, carrots, sweet peppers, apples & slivered almonds) and pita & humus. We don't do a family sit down dinner on soccer nights, so DH & DD help themselves when they want to eat.
Quesadilla's, meatballs, lettuce wraps, and tortellini are all quick before or after soccer meals. I usually put out a veggie plate every day, so don't worry about cooking vegetables on those nights.

I went back to WW last week and at weigh-in yesterday, I was down 3.0 pounds. Cooking meals that the entire family will like is a struggle...a couple nights last week I ended up making 2 separate meals. UGH!
I can manage the eating right part but I can't seem to get motivated to exercise. I can't tell you how much I HATE exercising and I know I NEED to do it but, dang! I just haven't been able to push myself. Does anyone have any advice on what works for them?

Lol Brandy, you said you weren't sure what kind of workout you'd be able to fit in on the days you work. But it seems to me that if you're working in a daycare you're still going to get in plenty of moving around. I mean, it's not like you can sit on your rear all day if you're taking care of kids! I recently had some blood work done that showed a slightly high glucose something-something (I forget what it was called). My doctor said "pre-diabetes" and I immediately started watching what I eat and trying to exercise. "Trying" is the key. Refer to my "hate to exercise" thread from earlier this week. ugh. At the moment I'm in Pittsburgh visiting my parents. I went for a walk the first day I was here and almost died. The combination of the Pittsburgh hills UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN and the awful heat and humidity almost did me in. So I haven't done that since that first morning, and I've been eating a little bit of ice cream. sigh... I'm heading to Philadelphia on Saturday for a retirement party on Sunday, then back to Virginia. Monday morning starts fresh. Meal planning and exercise. And maybe cooler weather?? We can only hope....

I'm starting to get back into a routine. It's tough for me to go to the gym without my husband, we always worked out together, but I'm doing it. Yesterday I ended up crying while on the treadmill, so I left about 10 minutes earlier then I wanted to. I wanted to leave before I started to ugly cry. I'm ok while I'm lifting because it preoccupies my mind. When I'm doing cardio I 'think to much.' My goal is to do weights 3 times a week, and cardio 4-5 times a week. When I go to the gym I try to keep it to one hour, 30 minutes weights/30 minutes cardio. At home I just do cardio 10-30 minutes.
Our eats haven't been horrible, but I'm cleaning them up even more. I've been slacking on eating enough protein and fibrous carbs, so I'm increasing them daily. When I do I notice a difference right away. That has always been the key to weightloss for me. I just need to be consistent. It's very easy for me to make up excuses not to work out or to eat balanced meals.

I'm down 16 lbs since June and feel like I've reached a plateau. I still have 27 more pounds to go and with the holidays coming up, I'm worried I may put this all back on!
We need to have weekly posts on here for accountability!

I am really struggling with my weight. I started a new job last June and have gained 20lbs over the year. I am in my car all of the time and rely too much on fast food and snacks from the gas station. I have been "trying to lose weight" but have just kept gaining. Prior to starting this job I WAS losing weight using MFP but I have gotten into some really bad habits. I feel sick looking at the scale and my clothes are all tight. Yuck. Why is it so hard to remember that when I walk in the gas station to use the bathroom and walk out with a huge cookie? I am starting a challenge with a friend who is a beachbody coach next Monday. I will be doing Piyo and following the nutrition guidelines. I now need to lose 35-40 lbs.

I've been decidedly average and I don't want my lack of motivation to rub off on my internet friends. It's spring here and I tried on some of my summer clothes. Suffice to say, I really, really, really need to get cracking if I don't want to buy a new larger summer wardrobe.

You really just have to push and do it. I find, the earlier in the day I do it, the better. Then it's done and out of the way and I don't have to think about it. LOL I envy the people that say that they LOVE to exercise and work out. I hate it. I hate to sweat, I hate the time it takes...but what I don't hate are the results I see when I do it. LOL So THAT keeps me motivated. And I try to use it sometimes as a way to get my pups exercise. I don't always do walks but when I do I try to take one of them with me so they get some much wanted and needed exercise.

LOL I do get to play with babies though. Yeah, the heat and humidity has been horrific here as well (NH). Oppressive is what they said on the news. Today is MUCH better, thankfully. But it's supposed to come back over the weekend. Ugh!

Ten minutes early isn't even a blip in the scheme of things. Can you listen to podcasts or comedy that keeps your mind busy while you're on the treadmill? You'll eventually make new routines for yourself, but it must be hard to continue doing things you did as a couple.

I'm down 16 lbs since June and feel like I've reached a plateau. I still have 27 more pounds to go and with the holidays coming up, I'm worried I may put this all back on! We need to have weekly posts on here for accountability! I'll try to post once a week! Is there any day that works better for everyone? I know weekends are busy - so maybe Wednesday? Just a check in to see how everyone's doing?
