Update: I tried using it with a laptop that has an older version of the SE software and it cut perfectly, so now I know is the new version that is causing me issues. No biggie until I figure it out, I´ll keep using the older version is not like I do some fancy cutting, just plain cut and svgs. Thank you so so much for all your suggestions. Took me a while to come back cause I´ve had a few busy days, but I do thank you lots!! Granted I hadn´t used it for a couple of months because of our move and other stuff happening, but today I tried to use it and when I send the design to cut (in the new software) it says registration marks failed. I say to select manually and nothing. I´ve tried resetting it, other paper, change sizes and nothing. All information about when this happens is about print and cut and I´m not trying to do that. Warranty is over and I´m in Mexico, so not much else I can do. I´m going to miss it

Can you call them? There may be a reset or something that can be done.

Make sure you are loading the cutting mat and not the media. That is the error I got when I loaded media instead of mat (happened to me last night).

I wonder if it might be a software issue instead of the actual Cameo. I would call customer service.

If you are in Mexico and don't want the long distance bill, you can also email them. It takes longer, and they will start by telling stuff that is in the troubleshooting section online (you DID check for a solution there, right?) but it is an option.
I usually get better service when I call. I rarely get through, but if I leave a message, they do call me back.

Do you have the software set for loading the mat vs media? That seems to be the most common mistake. Not meaning that you are using a mat, but that the software is set on load mat vs load media.

Don't give up!
Every time I have had an issue with p&c it was, in the end, something I did. It can be very frustrating - but keep at it.
I have also found the magic fix sometimes is to just shut down and walk away for a day - LOL
Double check your settings. Make sure you have the right paper size set to print, and that it matches what your printer settings are. Make sure you have the right size mat selected.
When you say "select manually" are you physically moving the cut head on top of the left hand size box that is printed on the paper? You can use the buttons on the machine itself to move it.
Do you have the lid up on the machine? Sometimes a little extra light can help.
Your registration marks are printed correctly? Top left is a black mark, then and angle mark in the top right and bottom left?
Are these straight? My last problem (which made me SURE my Cameo was not working right) turned out to be that my printer was pulling the paper in at just a slight angle, so my reg marks were skewed just a little - and it would not read correctly.

I had issues when my printer was printing just slightly crooked. It took forever to figure out because it was hard to tell by just looking at it. My husband figured it out. I use the single sheet feeder in my printer vs. the main paper tray and it works fine now.

I am glad you found what was going on with your Silhouette. Anyway, I would call them to ask if this was suppose to happen. It seems weird that they update the software and your machine stops working.

Do you know which "new" version you had. The first one they did was awful - but they have fixed the bugs in the updates since then.

I keep hearing they have fixed all the bugs, but every time I have checked the Silhouette Plus board, I read about someone still having issues. I haven't checked in awhile, though. It would really help to know if the software was the latest update or one of the earlier, still buggy ones. Thanks!

It´s version: 3.1.417ss I plan to write to them on monday and explain the issues I´m having and see if they can recommend any solution. In the meantime I´ll be using it with the older version.
