I'm in Canada, so it may be different here...
But this past week it was the 10 for $35 hand soap sale. And I had a $10 off coupon for over $30 purchases - win win, right?
Because I have a slight BBW soap addiction, and probably have 15-20 under my powder room sink (ssshhhh)
So off I went.
Now, granted, it was close to the end of the sale dates, but I was hard pressed to get 10 different scents that I liked!
Gone were the usual, standard, always in stock scents. And the front half of the store? Where each side is full of sections of all the items for different scents (like body wash, creams, lotions, scrubs, whatever, in standard scents like Sweet Pea, Japanese Cherry Blossom and on and on) - it was ALL candles!!
They had holiday scents for the hand soaps (certainly not 10 varieties though) and a VERY small selection of other scents. I prefer the non-foaming ones (they fit in the pretty metal holders I got for them) and I ended up having to get the foaming kind for 3 or 4 of the scents.
What the heck? What is with all the candles? Since when are candles "bath and body" items??

A long time ago the B & B W store by me had a White Barn candle store attached to it and I can remember thinking the same thing! The store near me now does not have the candle store but I remember thinking what the heck.

Haven't been in one for a few years. I stocked up online a while ago.

I went today and there were a lot of candles especially 3-wick. But all the soaps were there too. The candles all had a holiday theme. I was actually looking for mid-sized single wick candles and they didn’t have very many scents of that size.

They had a good sale on that size that ended either yesterday or today, so those may have been picked over. I'll admit, my favorite B&BW item are the candles followed distantly by the hand soap. I can take or leave everything else. I'm assuming other people must have similar shopping habits.

Took my two teens to the mall on Monday. Half the store was candles and they had 1001 different kinds. The three wick ones were $12.50.

75% of the reason why I even set foot in that store these days is only for the 3 wick candles. The rest is split between hand soap and shower gel.

The candles have probably been moved to the front of the store because of the huge yearly candle sale that happens the first week of December.

The only thing I buy there is candles, so it is my fault.

I hear you, Kellie. I go for the soaps, hand cream and occasionally other lotions. I don't use scented candles at all. Our store has a limited selection of what I really want so I've started shopping online more.

Some of the stores are remodeling - and when they do the amount of stock they carry is down. In Oregon they have just added the candle sections and it has been in a space next to the regular store. Ours was a mob scene when they had the $3.95 lotion sale. Craziness in that store.

I also prefer the non-foaming soaps, and it seems like many of the scents are ONLY available in the foaming style, including twisted peppermint! The winter candy apple and the vanilla bean noel were both available in the new creamy soap, but not the twisted peppermint. That seemed odd. I am happy they are getting away from the deep cleansing with the plastic micro beads, but I don't like how foaming soap seems to be the "official version" now.

At our mall, there is a BBW store and right next to it is the candle store. They have 2 separate entrances, but 1/2 way inside, you can get from one to the other.
