White House military personnel reassigned after ‘incident’ on Trump’s Asia trip: reportBY BRANDON CARTER - 11/21/17 07:40 PM EST Multiple military personnel have been removed from their positions in the White House after allegedly having improper contact with foreign women during President Trump’s recent trip to Asia, according to a new report. The Washington Post reports that three staffers, who belonged to the White House Communications Agency (WHCA), are being investigated for allegedly breaking curfew during Trump’s stop in Vietnam. “We are aware of the incident, and it is currently under investigation,” Department of Defense spokesman Mark Wright told the Post. The WHCA is made up of former military service personnel and provides the president and other top administration officials with communications support. The Post reports the service members could lose their security clearances or face a court-martial if found guilty of the improper contact.
In August, U.S. Army soldiers on Vice President Pence’s communications team were reassigned for violating curfew restrictions on Pence’s trip to Panama. The soldiers reportedly brought women back to their hotel rooms and didn’t register the women when they brought them into the building, U.S. defense officials said at the time. The soldiers were subsequently brought back to the United States and removed from the White House detail. thehill.com/policy/defense/361476-white-house-military-personnel-reassigned-after-incident-on-trumps-asia-tripRespect is gone.......... IF they are former military service personnel, how can they face court-martial?

But, if the WHCA is an agency of the military (which is possible since the president is commander in chief) then anyone employed by them becomes subject to military courts because they are working for the military even though they aren't technically soldiers.

In all fairness, there were issues within Obama's administration with security and the secret service - specifically, hiring prostitutes and bringing them to their hotel. So I am not sure this is a 'respect is gone' case. SaveSaveSaveSave

My understanding from another article is that they are active duty personnel, detached to the White House Communication Agency, so not in military billets and overseen by a civilian agency, but ultimately still on active duty. So not former military. This article is very confusing.
I cannot believe after the multiple high profile cases of this type of behavior in several administrations that people choose to act so stupidly. How many years ago was the Tailhook scandal?

This sounds to be more serious and I haven't heard it mentioned today on the news........ I guess we'll see what comes of it. Can't ANYONE just keep to themselves and do their freakin' jobs anymore???

But, if the WHCA is an agency of the military (which is possible since the president is commander in chief) then anyone employed by them becomes subject to military courts because they are working for the military even though they aren't technically soldiers. The papers this morning are stating NCO.. So they are military. In all fairness, there were issues within Obama's administration with security and the secret service - specifically, hiring prostitutes and bringing them to their hotel. So I am not sure this is a 'respect is gone' case. Without a doubt, true!
