Oh, John Ritter, was a tough one. And I also cried, still do, if I catch the Colonel Potter death episode. I also cry at store openings, weather changes, and smiling cat videos on the web. Yeah, I'm kind of a sap.

Oh the one that gets me is ER when Anthony Edwards character dies. He goes to Hawaii to try and make peace with his teenage daughter and then his wife and baby come later. Such a heartbreaking episode.

I've read that none of the cast knew what was going to happen to Henry. So when Radar told them what happened, their reactions were genuine.

(Brought on by a rerun of Rizzoli and Isles) Yes I never watched West Wing but did watch all three of the others and it was ugly crying when each of the shows did their passing episode. I actually just re-watched Rizzoli and Isles and cried at several episodes leading up to Lee Thompson Young's characters passing

Oh man, I was never a Glee fan but I watched that episode and it was heartbreaking.
I don't cry often, but sometimes TV does get to me, usually in shows that I watch for a long time (like Parenthood). And often, it's things I don't expect that actually make me cry.

The only time I can remember crying at a TV show was when Mr Locke's dad stole his kidney on Lost. Oh my god. Poor Mr Locke, he was always losing.

(Brought on by a rerun of Rizzoli and Isles) I was really sad when John Spencer died. So much so, when my sister and BIL first found out, my BIL said "Your sister is going to take this hard." I was inconsolable during the episode when Leo McGarry died and especially his memorial. Still. Both the actor and the character reminded me of all the dads in my neighborhood growing and I was clearly transferring some real life grief to the show.

Oh, those two get me every time I watch them. i can’t put a number to all the episodes of Little House on the Prairie I cried at, and still do! The one where baby Charles dies makes me bawl, as does the one where Isaiah gets mauled by the bear.

I usually cry during every character's death regardless if the actor is still living. I also get sad when I see an actor who has passed in a role I liked him/her in. Lately, seeing the scenery in some shows/movies filmed when I was a child has me feeling a bit sad as well. I really shouldn't watch tv anymore.

The only one I can think of right now is when Jimmy Fallon talked about his mother passing away. I don't tend to cry when a TV character dies, because I don't associate it with reality. Even if the actor did die in real life, that wasn't them in the show.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode of any show that dealt with the real life death of an actor on that show. I have teared up though when shows kill off characters.

On 7th Heaven with the last episode the grandfather was in, I cried hard at the end with the photos and music and then the message of dedication to him.

And now This Is Us is my weekly sobfest. i cry at *everything* and was interested in this show... thanks for the head's up. i'm out. DS didn't want me to volunteer to join his class to see moana last year. i found out he was worried i would cry and his friends would see me (he was 11). i said, fine, i want to see the movie anyway and i will sit with my friend (another parent volunteer) and suggested he not worry about me embarrassing him. guess what the preview was? that dog movie with dennis quaid where the dog keeps getting reincarnated. yup, sobbing before moana even started. i remember being a little girl and crying every week at the little house on the prairie.

Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, This is Us, Grey's Anatomy, the Waltons, Little House on the Prairie. All of these have produced the ugly cry on more than one occasion,

There was an epi of "West Wing" where they bury a homeless veteran at Arlington Cemetery. The MUSIC played during the burial ("Little Drummer Boy") amps up the emotion a million times! It made me cry my eyes out; it has stuck with me for years!
