I am not sure what I'll eat tonight. Just me again, and I have 2 lots of leftovers - some chicken from Monday night and lasagne from yesterday. The lasagne would be simpler - just heat and eat - but I know I need something like that for tomorrow, as I have physio at 6:30pm, so I will probably come up with something using the chicken. Maybe pasta or risotto or chicken fried rice.
ETA: I've done a quick fridge check and have decided I can make a paella-style rice dish.

Well my week of food planning is over. I think 3 days was pretty good! (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). So, I have nothing in my head for dinner. LOL Since it is just SO and I, it just may be frozen pizza. Happy that I will have 4 days off. Friday I will start taking down autumn decorations and putting up Christmas. We will see what happens with the tree and Jax, the puppy. He's a beast!! I am just hoping he doesn't pee on it! It's a fake tree, but a tree non the less.

Oh Geez, I don't know Dd#1 had her choice last night so it should be dd#2's choice tonight ... that usually means grilled burgers ... I'll make some baked home fries and some sort of salad as well ... The plan could change though

DS is on his way ~ I'm keeping busy trying not to think about the fog. We're having gumbo tonight even though it's quite warm up here. I've been wearing 3 layers every day and today I put on a tee with a 3/4 length sleeve. Hopefully when the sun goes down it will be gumbo weather! Oh, and a quick update on our rental: yesterday the water heater went out so we're having a new one installed today. We did select our tenant. A minister and his wife and 2 kids. They seem like an awesome family and their children are adorable and so polite. The tween son offered his hand for DH to shake when they met. That impressed DH!

Oh, I don't know. I've got to try and figure out how to make stuffing from GF bread, and make a pie. We've still got leftovers, so I'll rustle something up from the fridge. Food holidays wear me out!

We decided to order Chinese. I’m hoping to get out of work at 1:30. I’ve been starting at 5:00. I worked my butt off and the stars aligned so I will have Friday off.

I'm glad you all have your boys back home with you. cadoodlebug, there's no fog down this way at all. Very bright and sunny out there. Tell him to get on the road already. I will probably have a frozen pizza I picked up the other day. I need to do some cooking for tomorrow (taking it to my brother's house) and that's enough cooking for this gal.

DS is home! He said there was fog almost the whole way on I-5 but it wasn't so thick you couldn't see the car in front of you. So happy he's home!

We're having taco soup and a bread product. And, yes, I'm patting myself on the back or having the foresight to make the taco soup on Monday.

Pot roast and vegetables. I have some little I have some little potatoes I can roast in with it as well. I don't really want to make this for dinner as I don't like using the oven. I don't cook with it often and it makes me nervous. I hope it turns out ok.

We have friends arriving this afternoon to stay for a few days. They offered to take us out but are bringing two pups with them. Our Bella has never had another dog in the house so I didn't think leaving them alone minutes after meeting each other was wise and decided I'd rather eat at home.
Wine & herbed marinated pork tenderloin, green beans, spaghetti squash & a rice pilaf are going to be served here.
Our weather has gone haywire again. Forecast is for 92F/30C today!! This is at least 20 higher than average for the time of year and hotter than the desert!😳

The planned mac and cheese dinner never happened last night, so maybe that's a good idea for this evening.
I decorated for Christmas this morning. We don't do nearly as much as we used to. I have my snowman collection up, lights around the fireplace, and several wreathes indoors and out. I have a small table top tree, but it's out in the barn. DH says he'll get it, that was four hours ago and he's still watching basketball. Oh well. I can't begrudge the man his time. He works very hard and doesn't get much time off.
Overall, I'm pretty relaxed. We do a big family/friends meal tomorrow, but I only have to bring sides and it's a very relaxed and low key event.
Happy to read that so many of you are getting settled in with family.

I am working until noon and then taking Kait out for lunch. She has to work from 1 to 6 today at the flower shop.
After that I am coming home to make pies, a couple dips, get the tables set up and decorated, and whatever else I can do to make tomorrow run smooth.
Tonight for dinner we are having jalapeno cheese dogs and loaded tots.
I'm in a good frame of mind and had a chiropractic adjustment and massage this morning, so it should be smooth sailing.
Happy day to all those with incoming family members!

scrapmaven .....Although you'll enjoy being with your wonderful family, watching a large group of people eating sounds VERY difficult....even moreso on a holiday that mostly centers around FOOD...... ((( hugs )))) On a lighter note, I'm happy you're enjoying your 2 sons! scrappert .....Jax is SO cute!!! Hope he doesn't pee on your tree ! I wonder if our guy ever did that as a puppy, and we didn't know...yup, he probably did! LOL! We're having leftover carne guisada.....like many dishes, it's even BETTER on the second night with all the flavors more melded.

My dad likes wine and he has a lot of wine to use up in his lifetime. (I mean a lot). I suggested he put some wine into the beef stock around the pot roast. He likes the idea, he likes it when I cook with wine as he likes the taste, and is now arguing when to put it in. Um how about now? He asked me "when do you want to put it in?" and my response was "whenever you bring up a bottle from downstairs). I don't know the "good wine" from the "everyday wine". I am not that cultured I guess. To me it's either red or white and if it tastes good that's a bonus. (I frustrate him with my lack of interest in alcohol.)

Hi, well we ate the pot roast and I used 3 different recipes to make it. I would give it a solid 8.5 out of 10 for it. Have I had better pot roast? No. Have I had better food? Yes. Was it excellent? Yes, and very, I might add. I thought it was so good and it was really filling. My son and Dad both liked it, too. DS didn't talk that much at dinner because he is going through a major life change right now (job change) and that is stressing him out. My dad thought it was excellent. I don't know that my mother ever made it better than that. (Sorry, Mom. I love you!) I will definitely make that again. It was so easy and there is no downside to this meal. There is a little bit of meat and potato leftover for DS to take for lunch tomorrow. (Dad is back on the diet he told me at dinner... he also told me that he didn't care that much about his weight but wants to starve himself. Ok. I will watch him for a few days and then encourage him to eat better. He doesn't need to lose weight and just because DS is skinny doesn't mean that Dad needs to be as well.)

Yay! I had both kids for dinner!!
Boo! I served them ‘just pasta & meatballs’ ( and not home made ones)
But it was a nice dinner together!

I had planned on doing soup and grilled cheese but had a craving for breakfast. So I made a casserole that had biscuits, ground sausage, cheese, eggs, and gravy. I could eat breakfast food all day long.

Ordered pizza because dd came over to help get stuff ready for thanksgiving. We all do the turkey trot run or walk so I like everything ready to go when we get home. Inlaws come by noon so we can eat early and they can make it back to Toledo before dark. It’s pribably a 2 1/2 plus hour drive for them.
