After seeing PolarGreen12's post about her pap smear it reminded me that mine is coming up soon. I see a onc/gyn every 6mos (now- used to be 3 mos) for endometrial biopsies due to hyperplasia. At my last visit in June she said that my cervix "looked angry" and that she was going to do a pap smear and an HPV test just to check things out. They called the next day and said everything was fine and they would see me in December. Well then a few days later I got an email thatmy test results were available on line so I went and looked at them. It said I was negative hpv but that I had epithelial cell abnormality and atypical glandular cells and it recommended I get further testing especially since a friable cervix was noted- can not rule out malignancy. I was kind of shocked when I saw that and called the office. Again they assured me it was just their wording and that everything was fine. She didnt even say she wanted to retest??? Looking up these terms is a little concerning to me, but I am hoping that being an actual cancer dr she knows what she is doing. Anyway, I saw on the other thread that a lot of people had abnormal pap's. Has anyone had one that said any of the terms that mine did?
I will talk to my dr at my actual appointment but just curious in the mean time.
Thx.
