No. And not because it's the healthier choice. Because I'm lazy. I like to cook the minimum for dinner. Dessert is more work and no one got time for that.

I love to bake, and tend to bake when stressed...so we probably have desserts more than most.

If the kids want a snack later in the evening, I may give them a granola bar or something. But I am not going out of my way to prepare dessert unless it's a holiday or someone's birthday.

No. DH and I don't eat much in the way of sweets. The kids get sweets, but it is rarely a planned dessert. It is more like, "hey, mom, can we have popsicles?" after dinner, and then, often, sure, why not.

No but usually there are leftover cupcakes from my baker/sister's cupcake business on the bar if someone wants something sweet.

I only serve dessert for special occasions. My husband and his sister though both claim they need something sweet after dinner to cleanse their palates. I never thought to ask if they got dessert every night when they were kids.

When I was growing up, my mom would occasionally serve a small dessert - jello, pudding, fruit cup - at the dinner table when we were finished eating. I've never done that but I do remember that fondly.

Very rarely it depends on DH blood sugar numbers being diabetic. Sometimes it will be just a small treat like ice-cream

We don't formally have dessert everyday only for special occasions. We typically have some kind of snack around 8 or so. We eat around 530-6 most nights. My DD has a friend who asks for dessert immediately after eating dinner. DD usually puts her off for at least an hour because it's a foriegn concept to DD. I know at her house they don't typically eat dinner until at least 7 so I guess that's why she eats dessert right after? A snack isn't always sweet though. Sometimes we have pretzels or a piece of toast. I try to eat something healthy. A cheese stick or some fruit. We don't keep a lot of ice cream or chips in the house. Those are special occasion foods too. Too much temptation?

No - only if we are having company. Dh is not a big sweet eater and I have no will power when it comes to sweets - I would eat way too much of anything I baked.

I will bake something once every week or two. The kids will often have something small like a piece of chocolate or whatever. Dh and I usually have a small snack later in the evening but usually not sweets.

First I'd have to cook an actual meal.
Seriously!
I'm home alone most evenings and either have a large lunch then just some fruit in the evening or I cook a quick thing just for me. That being said, though, I do have chips almost every night before bed. Just a small amount. I take some medication that upsets my stomach all night long if I don't eat something kind of starchy. I dont' eat bread, so I have chips. It makes me happy.

Only once in a while. If we have company over for dinner, then we generally do.

After dinner, no. Waaaayyyyyy after dinner (like 10pm), my sweet tooth kicks in and I'll have some ice cream. I really have to stop doing that.

No, only if we have company. DH and I do eat a small square of dark chocolate after dinner because it's good for you.

It seems, now that we are older, my husband has to have a dessert after most evening meals. Most of the time it is a banana, twinkie or ice cream. I crave crunchy salty things, so I won't buy chips, but I will eat saltine crackers.

It depends on what we have for dinner. If it's a light meal then maybe we will have a dessert, but sometimes that could just be some fresh fruit rather than something gooey chocolates and scrumptious I tend to do dessert for weekend meals though, because life's too short!

Not unless we have company or DH is cooking a fancy meal and bought something. But we always have chocolate and ice cream in the fridge and he will have something every day, but it is not "official" dessert. I eat some once in a while. I prefer to spend my calories on savory stuff and wine

Even thought dark chocolate isn't really very sweet.

I only serve a desser when we have company. Now, my husband might get a bowl if ice cream occasionally or grab some collies but I'm not "serving" that, he just wants it. I didn't grow up liike that so it doesn't seem necessary to me.

When we were growing up my mother had some sort of dessert for us every single night after dinner. After we grew up and moved out, she would still fix desserts when we'd come for a visit. After my dad passed away, she went to live with my sister in AZ and when I'd go visit her there it'd be the same thing. She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia several months ago and just recently had to be put into a home. She doesn't even have her own kitchen anymore, and even though she may not remember who we are, she still tries to pawn cookies off on us in the evenings when we visit.

We have something sweet pretty much every night here. I always have something home baked or from a local bakery. But we eat a small serving. No weight or diabetes issues in my house though. I make a dessert once or twice a week. Some are bigger things that last us several days to a week -- some are small things that are more one time servings. We eat really balanced meals overall and have generally fairly healthy, made-from-scratch type meals. Dessert for us is part of our overall way of eating which means if you have a dessert you balance that out in other ways like less carbs, smaller portions, or more exercise. I'll run an extra couple of miles to eat a really good creme brulee any day!

Not usually. Sometimes I'll make brownies or there are Klondike bars in the freezer, but I don't consciously make dessert everyday. Growing up we only had dessert on a Sunday or on a holiday. If we went to my Gran's for Sunday lunch she would make multiple puddings. She was a school cook, and made the most amazing Baked Alaska. DH on the other hand, grew up having a dessert after every meal. So I always have yoghurts in the fridge so he can grab one if he wants one after dinner. MIL always has to "sweeten off" after a meal. This usually follows the "I can't possibly eat another bite" comment

I wouldn't say that I serve dessert, but before the evening I over, usually each of us has eaten something sweet. I do recall my mom serving dessert many nights when I was growing up.
