I’d like to buy a lens for my son’s girlfriend for Christmas. She’s currently has the kit lens and a nifty fifty.
She has a Canon EOS Rebel T3 and loves to hike and take nature/scenery photos. Any recommendations for lenses?

Any recommendations for lenses? What is your budget for her? Just a fair warning, she already owns the most budget minded lenses. A decent lens (not talking a good lens, just a hobby level) Is going to run several hundred dollars. A good lens is going to run closer to a thousand and up. Diamonds are cheaper. Seriously.

Thanks Volt! I was afraid of that. I was hoping to keep it around $300.

Thank you!!! Bright light shouldn’t be an issue. She’s primarily looking for something to use when outside/hiking/walking.

Its a good lens for a hobbyist. It gives sharp photos at all lengths. This is actually my second favorite lens to use. (edited to add: I have the 55-250) SaveSave

Just had to update and thank you both again. I went with the 55-250. Ds’s girlfriend was over the moon-moved to tears happy with the gift. She said It’s been on her wish list forever.
