I would like to purchase a pair of brown riding boots for fall, but don't know where to start. I want something that isn't crazy expensive, is decent quality, and comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations?

QVC had some nice looking ones on yesterday. They were Clarks and came in Brown and Black. They were riding boots but not over-the-top RIDING boots if you get my drift.

I have several pairs of Frye Boots. They are expensive (I know you said not crazy expensive), but honestly, they are so comfy (and I have foot problems) and they truly do last a good, long time. I'm happy to have taken the plunge with them several years ago. To me they're worth saving for....

You might check your local Nordstrom rack if you have one. I got a lovely pair of Born boots for DD there. Very comfortable, good footbed, simple yet stylish.

I have 2 pairs of Madden Girl - Cactus (I believe). Super duper comfy and pretty darn cute too! You can still find them on Zappos.com

I keep misreading this thread title as "fail boots..." So, I thought I'd google some... You know, some things you'd think were fairly safe to google, and this is, but still...eye bleach!

I would check with DSW online..they usually have decent shoes and reasonable prices, plus there are reviews and free exchanges.
