I save all Christmas cards we receive. I scrap them (really just put them in albums). It's fun to go back and look at the photo cards and see how the kids have changed and grown. And like looking at all the handmade cards. That said, I like it when people put the year on their card, especially the photo cards.
Soooo, I always put the year somewhere on the card, whether it's a handmade, store bought or photo card. Am I weird??

I have been doing digi scrapped photo cards since DD was born. I usually put the date on a small tag somewhere in the design because quite a few people have told me they save them and I know my scrapping friends do like you do and put all the holiday cards they receive into an album.

Thanks. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've been telling all my friends who send the photo card that they need to put the date. They can't believe I even save them, let alone put them in an album. If I receive a card with no date, I put it on the back.

I don't date the cards I make that way if I make extras I can use them next year and would not want to send one with last years date on it.
If I save a card from someone I will put the year I received it on the back.

No, unless a photo is included. Unfortunately, I think the majority of recipients just end up tossing them. Not as sentimental as I am when it comes to appreciating handmade items.

Even if no one kept the ones I send out, I still would put the date on them because *I* scrap them.

No, but you have me thinking it would be a good idea! One of those 'why didn't I think of that' moments!

I don't put the date on my cards but, my aunt always puts the date on every card she sends. I do save my Christmas cards though.

I only date the photos. If I send photo cards, I have the date put on it with the text.
With my handmade cards, I used to put the year on the back, right below my "Handmade by Kate" stamp. I quit doing that when I started making cards for my stash (instead of ones to send right away) - I realized I never wanted to send a card with a past year on the back. Who wants to receive a birthday card that was made two years ago? LOL
I like the idea of dating the inside when you send it.

I'm going to now. I'm going to get a "handmade by" stamp with my name and 2015 too! Great idea!!!

I don't put the year on them because I usually have a few extra left over. I also usually add a few people to my list each year. If I hit crunch time in my Christmas card making, I know it is "safe" to send these cards to the newly added people on my list since they couldn't possibly have gotten one like it last year.

I initial the back of my cards where I've stamped that they're handmade. I also will put the date next to my initials.

I don't date the cards that I make, in case I have some left over. I can't send a card clearly labelled in 2013 for Christmas 2014.
But cards I receive, I put in boxes marked with the date. I don't date the cards themselves. I tend to recycle the bought cards into new cards a few years later.

When I made cards ages ago, I used to write the date on the inside along with the message. However, I switched to photo cards about 10 years because it was just easier. I always thought I would remember the year of each card but after several years, I couldn't remember. Soooo, I started adding the year to my photo cards about years ago.
