I've never heard of such a thing so I'd definitely say myth ... I taught Human Sexuality to junior high students for many years and that certainly wasn't an issue

Never heard of such a theory.
I'd say myth--created by someone who didn't want to serve eggs to her daughter.

What was the science behind that nugget of wisdom? I can't even imagine what they thought might pass as some kind of science...

Never heard of it so I'm going with myth. How would you ever know anyway?

Has to be a myth.

Where are you getting this stuff? I hated eggs as a child and, as I said in your other thread, I got my period at 9.

How young is your daughter? If you are as concerned as you seem about her starting menstruation, you should take her to her pediatrician and talk with him/her. The physician should be able to reassure you, or treat your daughter if there *is* an issue.

Myth. But if you are concerned use hormone free eggs and meat.

How you could be sarcastic!! 11 years is not really early. I taught 5th and 6th grade for ages, and most girls started when they were 11 or 12. I remember my younger sister started at 11, way back in 1974.

How you could be sarcastic!! 11 is not early...early is before age 8 (precocious puberty -and the doctors will usually intervene). Normal start of menarche is between 8 and 15 with the average being 12 and the majority of girls having started by 14 and a medical workup is usually warranted for a 16 who hasn't yet started

What made you choose this one?

Engaging with a bunch of total strangers is the raison d’etre of internet message boards. Yes but usually it's board of people you sorta "know"... not a random board with serious concerns... unless it's bumping an old thread that google led u to the peas about...

Engaging with a bunch of total strangers is the raison d’etre of internet message boards. There are better and far more sensible ways of seeking advice if there is a genuine concern about a child's health.
