On the off chance anyone knows how to easily fix this...lol. I have comcast, with a comcast remote. Somehow the tv got switched to the picture being wider and now it I can't see things beyond the edge of the screen.
I've tried every button on the remote, but i'm not getting the right combo or something. It was likely changed from the remote because the dog steps on it often. I found a setting to change things over the summer when dog changed the channels to spanish speaking, but darn if I can find a menu again.

Did you try adjusting the settings with the TV remote, not using the Xfinity one? I think that might be easier. That happened to me once (only, a cat was the guilty party) and I messed around with the TV remote and tried stuff until it worked.

Pretty sure the dog stepped on the remote and changed something. Will see if I can find the other remote though tomorrow and see what options are on that one. You'd think i'd stop leaving the remote on the couch where dog can walk over it

See if this works: XFINITY X1 TV Box Press the xfinity button on your remote. Highlight the gear icon to the far right, and press OK to access the Settings menu. Navigate to Device Settings > Video Display > Video Output Resolution. For an SD TV, select 4:3, 480i SD, and then press OK. However, please note that X1 apps will not be available in 480i or 480p. For an HD TV, select the option that matches the highest supported resolution of the TV. Options include 16:9, 720p HD; 16:9, 1080i HD; and 16:9, 1080p60 HD. www.xfinity.com/support/cable-tv/tv-aspect-troubleshooting/

Just thought it might be easier to figure out how to reconfigure the settings with the TV's own remote. But I'm...remote challenged, hehe

That's exactly what I would have looked for, but had no idea how to access it on the cable remote.
