I've been scrapping the early 2000's and still have a stash of eyelets and brads. I've been using brads in lieu of enamel dots since they look so similar and I have so many. While going through them yesterday I found some small patterned brads from Queen and Co. from back in the day and I think they'll look great on some of my layouts. What forgotten items have you found or what have you re-purposed recently?

I've not paper scrapped for a couple of years now so whenever I am looking through my stash for the occasional card I need to make I'm always finding new to me stuff. I too like the patterned brads, I have quite a few of the MME sets. What else? Hambly transparencies I have quite a stash of still.
I was sorting out the spare room the other week and found a box full of Sweetwater papers from way back when - it was I think about the only kit club I ever subscribed to.
Oh and the remainder of my Chatterbox papers. I was always loathe to finish them off. I actually used some for Father's Day this year.

I can't think of any on thing. I have so much wonderful stuff in my hoarder scrap room that when I finally organize it I fully expect it to feel like I just shopped at a convention vendor faire!

Plain brads. Big round ones, little round ones, big square ones, little square ones, heart ones, and star ones. SO many plain metal brads. But I learned that with nail polish, they can be whatever color I want them to be now.
Specialty printables and stampables. I found some printable paper-backed sheets of semi-sheer silk fabric and cotton fabric. Also some transparency sheets, frosted/opaque acrylic sheets, and black acrylic sheets. As well as a package of shrink plastic sheets. There are also some self-adhesive mulberry paper and vellum sheets that can be used in a printer too. All of that stuff was stacked on the supply rack next to the desk in the computer room, hidden under some of my husband's office supplies.
Specialty paper in general. I love handmade and specialty papers, and would always buy a couple sheets of whatever was really cool and unusual that I had never seen before whenever I was scrapbook shopping. I ended up accumulating a stack that just about fills an Iris box. There are embroidered papers, batik papers, hand painted papers, tie dye papers, leather texture papers, sheets of cork and canvas, acrylic sheets with textures or patterns, glittered papers, embossed papers, velvet papers, papyrus looking papers, iridescent and metallic finish papers, water marbled papers, mulberry papers, and vellum papers.

I agree about finding stuff when you organise. Shopping the stash, right?

I was trying to figure out how to attach a cut-in-half page protector to a full page protector for a "flip up" effect, based on something Shimelle had done in a lesson. She had sewn hers together, but I don't have a sewing machine and I didn't want to use staples. I did a little digging, and voila--Chatterbox scrapbook nails! They held the pages together nicely, and the backs are flat, without the poke-y wings that brads have.

You ladies are not kidding about the shopping the stash. It is always so easy to get in the habit of buying buying buying. But when I go to scrap and start looking through my drawers for things to use, I am always amazed at what I already have!!

I recently came across a binder full of stencils and border buddys (anyone remember those?). I'm hoping to put them to use again with some mists or paints.

I have a stack of them I was going to donate to Goodwill. I might have to pull them back out to see if I can find a use for them.

I found out a few years back when I did the TH tags that I had stuff that would work and put my own spin on the tag... It felt good to improvise and end up with a pretty good looking tag somewhat like his.I just couldn't justify buying all his product to make an exact.

I cleaned my scrap area last week and I found a cute package of Pink Paislee Artisan mist able papers. All sorts of cute patterns in the pack.

I used magic mesh on a layout last week and felt it added just the right touch.

I have found so much this year that was in a bin or bag that I had forgotten about. I've been putting together page kits with a lot of it. So far this year, I have bought nothing but adhesive and my stash is SLIGHTLY smaller.

Not exactly the same, but while pinning layouts from my 2peas bookmarks/likes, I found an oldie KI Collection that I didn't remember seeing and just LOVED. Was able to track down a 12x12 paper pad and a couple embellishments from a collection released in 2009...so it kind of felt like finding something that was an oldie but goodie, even if it wasn't (yet) in my stash!

I usually keep a tight reign on what I have and keep it in my mind, but what has been sort of a new discovery for me has been making art canvases with my scrapbook supplies. Usually they were supplies that I didn't want to use on pages any more, like dimensional flowers, even the paper ones, sequins, fibers (which a kind person donated to me), textured paper, even punches I thought I'd never use again. My scrapping style, I know now, is very simple so these items were in line to purge. But discovering a new project I like to make has given these items new life in my stash. It's pretty exciting, creatively.

I HAD to have the Prima paintable paper and just couldn't consider actually using it because then it would be gone and the possibilities would be gone too. I found it while packing my stuff up for our move, and now I'll have to make it a goal to use these this year!

I love my stash. I moved 1.5 years ago and went thru everything. I then went thru it all again about 6 months ago to do a re-organization. I purged only 12 pieces of paper, and a bunch of wedding stuff. That was it. I love everything. I had purged in the past and then I always regret getting rid of the stuff.
I love searching thru my shelves and drawers. The only thing I do buy now is dies.

I'm glad I am not the only one who finds stuff they had forgotten about. I was thinking it was my failing memory.
I constantly am finding forgotten things in my stash as I hunt for something I do remember having.
