and have a Grinchy Christmas on Christmas Eve. I've had a crappy year with lots of crap going on. I have not been in a Christmas-y mood, at all, and I have pretty much forced myself to decorate my house. I did it for my kids, who will all be home for the holidays. I have 3 in college and one son who still is at home, and if not for them, I probably would have done nothing at all. Now that it is done, it does make me smile, so I am glad I forced myself to do it all. Today, I was on Pinterest and saw a couple of Grinch food ideas, and I thought the perfect way to deal with being a Grinch is to be a Grinch. Now, I am looking forward to Christmas. I found some really fun ideas for decorations, food, cookies, etc. The Christmas decorations I have in my kitchen have a Dr. Suess vibe already, and I have been happily pinning away. Anyone who follows me on Pinterest may be wondering what the heck I am planning. If you are feeling less than thrilled about Christmas this year, are you doing anything special to make yourself enjoy it? UPDATE 12/28 My Grinch party turned out fabulous! It was last Thursday night, the kids loved it, and I am quite sure it will be our new Christmas tradition. I have a bunch of pics, but I haven't been able to figure out how to post them now that I can't use Photobucket. I am working on a blog post, and I will post pics there and a link to it when I am finished. It was so much fun, and I already have ideas for ways to make it bigger and better next year. UPDATE 1/2 I finally posted some pics on my blog for anyone who wants to see. ramblinrose-rose.blogspot.com/

A local restaurant here has green eggs and ham on their menu this time of year. It’s a twist on eggs benedict. It’s over hash brown instead of English muffins, and has a creamy pesto sauce instead off hollandaise. It’s pretty yummy.

I just have to say the I found your post refreshing.
I've been under a lot of stress over the past two months, and I think I'm going to have to sneak the Grinch in to several parts of my Christmas Eve dinner for the family...

I think that you are entitled to do whatever you want for Christmas. The Grinch theme is still festive and fun. Enjoy not enjoying this season.

I love it! How the Grinch Stole Christmas is one of my all time favorite books for kids. DD and I have already read it a half dozen times this season. Last year I refashioned a pair of Grinch flannel pj pants I had into a pair for her to wear to school on Grinch Day along with a custom lime green shirt I made with iron on vinyl and my cutter. It’s fun. I’d be willing to bet that your heart will grow three sizes before Christmas Day is over too! P.S. I think that Trisha Yearwood’s Green Punch would be a perfect beverage for your Christmas Eve get together! It’s the perfect green color for a Grinch themed party. We made it for DD’s birthday and it was really good. Recipe Here

I put on the cartoon version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" every year when my DH is out buying the tree and I'm baking cookies. When all the Whos down in Whoville join hand and sing on Christmas morning and the Grinch realizes that Christmas "means a little bit more", I bawl like a baby. Gets to me every time.

My kids have called me the grinch for years. Christmas is a lot of work and I can be grumbly about it. Last year I bought a tee off Etsy that says Team Grinch and wore it proudly.

My sister and brother in law live in Who-ville the month of December. They are hosting our family Christmas party and we are having a Who-feast. Can't wait. My mother made Grinch pillows for the grandchildren and gave them out at Thanksgiving.

Be sure to watch the original Grinch on Christmas- we usually watch while decorating the Christmas tree.
DD1 is getting married a week before Christmas, so I haven't done any decorating yet and probably won't. DH may be working on Christmas and both DDs will be out of town.

I have that cake pinned on Pinterest! I am for sure making it for dessert. I also found some red candy hearts at Michael's, and I am going to put them on green cookies. I'm actually searching for Grinch ornaments for each of the kids for their yearly ornament.

The Grinch was always my favorite Christmas special when I was a kid. I still love the old cartoon, but I like the Jim Carey version as well. I think I will buy both.

UGGGGHHHH this is so me this year. I just cannot get into it AT ALL. And not 'feeling' it when I really want to is making me even more blah. Ive been burning Christmas smelling candles and listening to Christmas music in the car, but no go so far. I have barely started shopping yet. Have a handful of stocking stuffers and that's it!
Off to Pinterest so I can find some Grinchy fun!
ETA: I am totally making that punch! Wonder what liquor would go best with it; rum or vodka? 🙃
