A female's flu isn't 'that bad' comparatively, so we can deal with all the regular stuff AND be sick at the same time, but 'man flu' quite possibly COULD actually be worse, meaning they're allowed to be whiny babies?!? uh- nope, not buying it. (and the research was conducted by a man, too- no surprise there!!)

The need for "man safe-spaces" equipped with couches and TVs? Uhhhh. Would that not be pretty much every den or living room in the western world? YEah. Not buying it that their symptoms are worse. They just have not been conditioned on a monthly basis from early teen years to push through physical discomfort and keep everything going. Can you imagine what a "man period" would look like? I know for a fact that my DH would consider it a near death experience and would require a medal of valor for surviving menses once.

And the source is the Patch, which is fluff news that I often find inaccurate.

It is true that women are the stronger sex.... It's why more makes are born, but by adulthood, females outnumber maes. But I don't think that Akers them generally feel worse.... They just don't gave to earn to plow through no matter how bad we feel

And the source is the Patch, which is fluff news that I often find inaccurate. I saw it on at least 2 Canadian sources since it's a Canadian doctor making the claim. Not saying it makes it anymore valid!

It probably depends on the person but dh gets way sicker than I do, he was just sick for 6 weeks with bronchitis and he had to grrr the pneumonia vaccine after getting it two years in a row. I joke he's like an elderly person even though he's 40. I don't think he whines about being sick, he just gets sicker for longer periods of time. Once everyone in the family had the stomach flu and I swore I just willed myself to stay well so I could care for everyone, then my baby threw up and accessed'll sneezed in my face and I knew it was a matter of hours, luckily for me dh recovered in time to watch the kids while I was sick. However he and the kids were sick for much longer. I realize I'm only one data point, but I'm curious, whining aside if men fall prey to illness more easily or if their symptoms last longer than women.

We didn't need a study to tell us that.
