Ds was not happy about having to clean up someone else’s screw up (not his word ) and said I should have called FedEx and made them do it. Onto the situation: a neighbor from the next block came down to say that we had a package deliverered there by mistake he couldn’t bring it because he has a bad shoulder. It turns out they delivered his package to us. No big deal Except our package was a tv stand, weighing 100 pounds so of course I had to wait for ds to get home from practice so we could drive down there and team lift it thru the snow and ice to the car and to our porch (and inside of course). While it was an inconvenience and delayed ds from getting to the girls basketball game he was going to, we were capable of handling it so I didn’t feel the need to call FedEx and deal with having to wait for them To fix their mistake. But I’m curious, what would you have done?

It was a box with a few books or something, I would have have run it over to him. Something like you describe, though, plus dealing with ice and snow? That would be a nope from me. Amazon would have had to deal with that one.

If I could do it myself with DS/DH, I would, rather than wait. My back has been bothering me lately and DH is out of town, so I probably would have had to contact FedEx, which I would find far more annoying than just going and getting the package. Probably DS could lift it himself, but he shouldn't have to. How irritating!

I live alone now, I’d have to call fed ex up and have them fix it.

I would think Fed Ex should know, as the driver obviously messed up. What else did he mess up on that run? There are a lot of new drivers out there during the season and a ton of packages to deliver. I'd hope they would do an internal check on some packages to make sure they arrived properly. But I'm probably nuts and that would never happen.

Given the logistics you describe, I would have had Fed Ex do it. First because of the inconvenience and risk (of getting hurt) to me, but also because of the risk that I fall or drop the TV.

FedEx would have received a call from me. I could not have gotten the package! FedEx should get a call for you about the deliveries, lack there of!

Given the risk of damaging the item, I would have called FedEx. Honestly, though, if a package was delivered to me by mistake, I would have called the delivery company instead of the neighbor. But then we don't know many other people beyond the closest houses.
