Where is shooting guns common on New Years? I have never heard of anyone doing this and I live in an area where everyone has guns.

Micro-chip your pets if they have not been. It is about $20 and they have a much better chance of getting home if they get lost.
I personally take every lost dog I have found to a local vet to be scanned (for free). One got home to his family and the other one now lives with me. I loved her so much that after I diligently and actively searched for her family for two weeks, she was adopted into our family.

you ladies are so kind...most places are not suppose to fire guns...bullets go up but they also have to come back down and someone could be hurt or killed and we live in the country and they still do it at times...keep safe and your pets....
