Dumb question, but I'm seriously curious (and a little frustrated). I sent a large, flat rate, priority package (insured) from Seattle to LA (West Hollywood to be precise) on Friday morning. According to the PO it should have been there by yesterday. Tracking shows it still "en route to LA." Package contains gifts for each of the 8 nights of Hanukkah (which began last night).
So, if you're in the LA area....do you think that could be what's holding it up? I honestly expected it to be there early, on Monday.

I was wondering the same thing...especially for the card swap.

I have family in LA and we ship/send back and forth a lot this time of year. I had packages shipped via Amazon/Fedex and they arrived in two days. Dad mailed cards from LA via USPS on Friday and we received 2 out of the three yesterday (standard 3 day to get to Kentucky). One has not arrived yet. I sent three priority boxes via USPS today and they are scheduled for Saturday delivery. We'll see.

It is just the time of year. I had a package come from upper Washington and it took 5 days to arrive and it was priority. I am in southern Ca, about an hour east of L.A. this was before the fires started, so very begining of the month.

The fires will only impact delivery to areas under mandatory evacuation.
Highway closures might cause a delay in trucks getting through to the main post office for redistribution and parts of the I5 were closed for a few hours in the Santa Clarita area north of LA early last week. I don't think there were any closures since then. Anything coming by air hasn't been impacted by the fires.
I think it is just a volume issue. I know cards I mailed on Thursday have been delivered to Seattle.
