I didn't know if you had heard about this or not. Details have been released through their SG Scrap Squad on FaceBook and in their newsletter emails.
Here's the 12/13 post that outlines what so many of us have been waiting for - the cost. ;-) Having been to 4-5 of their crop retreats, I'm tickled pink that they are returning to hosting them!
It’s time for new information about the “We Create” luxury crop event to be hosted by Scrapbook Generation at the Oasis Convention Center in Springfield, MO Sept. 7-9, 2018.
Today, I have the final details about pricing, hours, and a review of some things we’ve already talked about.
WE CREATE fee: $250 (We will accept a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, with payment in full by May 1.)
NUMBERS: We will be able to seat 300 people.
REGISTRATION DATE: January 3
FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
— Cropping time: The crop area will be available almost 40 hours. This is a tentative schedule, and may change slightly, but right now it is looking like this: Friday 1 pm - 1 am; Saturday 8 am - 1 am; Sunday 8 am - 5 pm.
— Table space: Everyone will have their own 8-foot table. (Update: We will be able to seat all 300 people at straight tables — no round tables will be needed.) The two convention center ballrooms adjoin each other, and will be opened up to be one large space, so we will all be in the same room. Groups will of course be seated together. This will be taken care of at the time of registration.
— Access to electricity: Electricity will be available at all cropping tables.
— Meals: Four buffet meals...Friday dinner, Saturday lunch, Saturday dinner, and Sunday lunch.
— Gifts and free stuff: Scrapbook Generation layout kit, We Create logo tumbler and lid, We Create logo tote bag, and numerous scrapbooking products from top manufacturers. In addition, there will be several surprise gifts and amenities from SG.
— Activities: Free mini-classes and demos all weekend long, plus access to two or more photo areas. We hope to offer live “Bingo with Karin” on Saturday night.
— Access to shopping: A full Scrapbook Generation store will be available onsite.
— Prizes: There will be numerous door prizes during the weekend from both SG and the leading industry manufacturers.
AVAILABLE FOR EXTRA FEES:
— We Create logo t-shirts and sweatshirts
— Classes with Allison Davis
— Chair massages
— VIP arrival gifts (to be revealed later)
NOT INCLUDED IN THE CROP FEE:
— Hotel accommodations. You are responsible for booking your own hotel room, if needed. When it is time to register, we will have information for you about lodging at the Oasis, and at other hotels nearby.
— Drinks other than the following: We will provide ice water at all times, and iced tea will be served with meals. You will be responsible for any additional beverages.
— Snacks other than the following: We are allowed to provide you with a small amount of chocolate and other small snacks as a welcome gift. You will be responsible for any additional snacks.
— Breakfast. Most hotels will provide a free breakfast, but it will depend on where you stay. (The Oasis has a complimentary breakfast for paid hotel guests only.)
ADDITIONAL INFO:
If you are serious about attending, we highly recommend the following:
— If you are part of a group of two or more, get the group organized and counted NOW.
— Part of the registration process will require you to specify your group name (or if you are attending as a single.)
— Think about registering as a group, with only one person registering the entire group. All registration will take place online at scrapbookgeneration.com. If the event sells out before everyone in your group is registered, unfortunately there will be ABSOLUTELY NOTHING we can do about it.
AND FINALLY:
If you have additional questions, I will be happy to try to answer them now, if an answer if available at this point.
And this info was released 11/29:
It’s time for another installment in our series of Wednesday reveals about the September 7-9, 2018 luxury crop event here in Springfield, MO. We have many ideas swirling around about how to make this the most special crop you’ve attended through both included (free) and paid amenities.
The things I’m going to talk about today may not all work out, but they are the things we are considering. I’m going to divide them into “for sure” categories and “possibly” categories.
PHOTO BOOTHS
FOR SURE: We will have at least two - and maybe more - photo booth areas set up so that you can capture all the fun photos you want.
PHOTOGRAPHER
FOR SURE: There will be an event photographer circulating at times, taking a variety of photos. We will make the digital images available to you later, free, via a system like DropBox.
POSSIBLY: We are checking into having a professional photographer on hand to take photos of you and your group at one or more of the photo areas. This could go a couple of directions. We might offer the option for your group to purchase a “mini-session” of photos through the photographer. Or we might offer the photographer’s services free for everyone — perhaps for one photo of your group during a certain time period, similar to the way people line up for photos on a cruise.
MASSAGE THERAPIST
FOR SURE: You will have the option to pay for a chair massage. We hope to have two massage therapists available.
ARRIVAL GIFTS
FOR SURE: There will be several gifts from us that will feature the event name and logo, including a tote bag, and an acrylic tumbler with lid and straw. We’ll also have an exclusive Scrapbook Generation layout kit for you. There will be a plethora of “goodie bag” items from a host of manufacturers that will be sponsoring the crop event. (I will go into more detail about this on a future Wednesday reveal.)
POSSIBLY: We are exploring the idea of offering VIP arrival gifts for you to pre-purchase to treat yourself (why not?) or a friend. The gifts might take the form of flowers, chocolate, personalized messages or candygrams, or other fun items.
I’m interested in which of the “possibly” amenities appeals to you. If you have time, and are serious about attending the crop event, please share your thoughts!
REMINDER: I'm not answering questions at this point. If the answer to your question is not in this post, we are not ready to release that information yet. Again, not trying to ignore or frustrate you, but not everything is "for sure" yet and ready to be announced. We are treading carefully and making sure everything is nailed down before we tell you about it.
