I cannot get the Print and cut feature to work on my cameo 3. I bought planner stickers from a vendor on Etsy and it included the cut file for the Cameo. I have calibrated the machine. I added direct lighting so the registration marks can be read. It still cuts outside the design. Any gurus have any suggestions? It was one of the main features I was interested in.

Can you fix the picture? It's easier to help if we can see. Perhaps also a screen shot of what you see in the program.

Sorry @anmore can't see your pics - perhaps they are set to private on FB?
Is it just one file you're having issues with or do you have the same problems with all print and cut files?
A few more questions: When you say it's cutting outside the design, is it the same distance all the way around or is it uneven in some places? Just double check you are using the right registration marks for your machine? I would be tempted to try tracing the stickers again and see if that helps. Perhaps it's the way the cut file was set up?

I would of course like to help, but need more information. And certainly screenshots may help. For example, when in the send window so we can see where all the cut lines are.

Thanks guys! If there is any easy way to upload pictures I will do so.
I will be trying later today. Made gift card holders yesterday so I do not feel too inept.

Three other things to check for:
Make sure when you hit the "load" button the Cameo, you are selecting load mat, not load media
I had a weird issue with print and cut once and it turned out I had accidentally changed the paper size to larger than 8.5x11 but was still printing on that size, so that's what was messing me up. Check your paper size.
Also I can't tell exactly but it looks like your printed design starts higher up. Is it possible it's crossing into the registration mark area? Make sure you have "show registration marks" checked and that none of your design is in the cross hatched area. If it is, that will cause it not to be able to read the marks.

This happened to me to last year and I posted about it. It was a very easy and simple fix but I can't remember what it was now. Let me see if I can find the thread.

Hopefully I got the pics to post. Thanks for the photo, that helps. It certainly looks like it's misreading/misaligning where to cut. 1. In the Design area do check that your paper size is set to match your printer paper. For example, we have A4 paper over in the UK and if my paper was set to US 8.5 x 11 I might run into problems as it won't scan for the registration marks in the right place to begin with. 2. In the Design area under registration marks you could try setting them at the minimum - I think it's 0.394. I use the minimum and have no problems. 3. In the Send area check that the red lines for cutting do line up with the designs. It's unlikely to be wrong, but worth checking. 4. As long as the design does not reach the corners where the registration marks print it should not interfere with the print and cut. My hatch marks cover the corners, but the central part although having hatch marks is slightly further up the page and I've put images there and they print and cut perfectly. 5. The black registration marks need to be black; any fading or a slight missing area and they don't read. I have drawn them in before with some success. Print on your Normal or Best setting. It's not entirely clear from the photo if the registration marks are as black as they can be. 6. You need good light for the marks to register, that's true. I leave up the lid while cutting. I have found good all round light is what is needed; I ran into problems during summer when bright sunlight through the window made the Cameo mis-register, so shining a bright light near there isn't necessarily going to work. 7. It is Load Mat that you need, not Load Media, I did that by mistake once. Also, I'm sure you are using the Silhouette mat, but if not that also may cause a problem. I've read varying reports where people can use other mats successfully, yet others never get them to work. Other than that I can only suggest keep trying. Which isn't of any use, sorry

Thanks jane! I appreciate the list. I am wondering if the black is not black enough on the printed registration marks....

Decided to give this another whirl. I have implemented all the suggestions above. Still off. I am using regular copy paper for now - adjusted the cut settings- to save on sticker paper. Oh mighty peas - help!

can you get a screen shot of your page on the Silhouette -not the one that you will actually cut- after hitting send and before you hit the second send for cutting like this with your design and registration marks on it print and cut screen by Cindy Blair, on Flickr
