Anyone attend this? Is it worth a 5 hour drive - thanks. I believe it is usually in June.

I have friends that go every year. They drive in from Abilene. They rent a house too and scrapbook all weekend.

Dang! Ya got me all excited 'cause I thought it was Arlington, VA. I scooted over to the website and saw it's in TX. Too far for this Jersey girl.

I don't know. I'm not even sure how far Chantilly is for me, lol. I have family near Arlington, so I knew that was a do-able drive. Will have to look into it . . .

I thought Arlington, VA too and I was about to say that they don't have it there anymore; they have Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly now I think. Something that combined with a bead show.
I would go to any scrapbook convention at this point that is a reasonable drive. I always find stuff to make it worth the trip.

Well, if it's the Expo, then that's what we have here - next weekend in fact. Yep, I'm a-goin'! 'Cause I sooo need more stuff . . . I was hoping it might be something different. Ah, well.

GASC stopped coming to Chantilly, VA about two or three years ago. Scrapbook Expo came to Chantilly this year. I still managed to spend too much, even though they didn't have that much of what I was looking for. My DS lives in Texas. I keep thinking I need to visit him at that time of year, ha, ha, but we visit another time of year instead.

GASC in Arlington, TX was just OK this year. I bought a few things, but it was lacking in booths. We did do the Thursday night crop and it was very sparse.
The Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, TX is MUCH better, IMHO.

No.
I've been going every year for as long as it's been here (which is a long time - at least a dozen years).
It's NOTHING like it used to be and that just makes me sad. It is not the latest and greatest products. It is mostly junky/discount vendors selling off old stuff at clearance prices.
The sales floor wasn't even all filled last year and there were tons of non scrapping vendors - bras, scentsy, dips, clothes, jewelry.
My friend and I stopped in every single booth and only managed to fill about two hours.

A friend was just telling me that Creating Keepsakes was taking over the GASC event in Arlington and making changes to get the vendors back so that it would be more like in the past, when it was really strong. I have no idea if this is true, just what she told me.

The Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, TX is MUCH better, IMHO. This was the first year I went to GASC in several years, and it did seem . . . different. We also did the Thursday night crop, and I was surprised by how few people seemed to be there. Not that I had anything to compare that to. I'll have to check out the Grapevine thing.
