It was mentioned in the Rolled Jeans thread and I've been looking at the blog a bit. Sounds interesting. Anyone done one of the challenges? What did you think? The idea of someone telling me what outfit to wear everyday sounds pretty appealing. And I definitely need help in knowing what to buy. I have a dresser and closet full of clothes, but "nothing to wear".

I had not heard of it, but just read up on it. It's not expensive so I think I'd be more inclined to do something like that rather than Stitch Fix. Right now I plan to follow her blog and get some ideas from it.

I'm in the Winter 2017 challenge now along with cmpeter (she originally posted about it), and I love it. It's easy to do, creates a lot of options from a few pieces and allows you to work within (or push yourself out of) your comfort zone

I did a Fall one a few years ago. I loved it. I got great ideas and the Facebook group provides additional ideas. I felt put together.

I did the Putting Me Together fall outfit challenge and I really loved it. Her style is polished but casual and comfortable. I now have a good mix of basics that work well in a bunch of different combos. Plus I got a few new "completer pieces" that pull the outfits together. I will definitely do her spring challenge too.

I’m doing my first one now (we are on day 11). I’m really enjoying it. I like the style of the outfits and that she provides links to purchase and they vary from places like Nordstrom to Target to Amazon. I love seeing all the versions that other challenge participants post in the challenge FB group (which is private). You’re encouraged to shop your closet and make substitutions for any of the pieces as you feel fit.

I posted on the other thread, but I did 8 of her challenges back-to-back in 2015 and 2016. Super fun group of ladies and a great little nudge if you've fallen into a rut.

I did the little quiz thing and it suggested I do the Winter 2017 challenge, but it sounds like I can't because it's already started. Is that right? Everyone starts at the same time?

You could still join. It goes thru mid-January. But you would have to either shop your closet or jump in on some purchases pretty quickly so you would be able to compile the outfits. It's so inexpensive to join that you could easily jump in and work from your closet and get a sense of how it works

I live in an area that has very few shopping areas. The closest department store is a 45 minute drive away. I'm very tempted to do this. Did you do an entire year or just a season? SaveSave

There's also a Facebook group that you can post questions, see other participant's outfits, etc.
You can do by season or for the full year.

Do you all know, if you sign up for the 2018 GYPO Style Challenge Annual Membership, does it start with the Winter challenge already in process? I feel like since it's already started (when did it start, exactly?) I'm kinda missing out.
I super tempted by this, will probably pull the trigger.

I know I'm supposed to stretch out of my comfort zone, but a few of the items are things I would never wear and wouldn't want to invest in.

If I have the pieces to try something she suggests, or I think I can make a piece work with my existing wardrobe if I purchase it, then I'll give it a go. If I don't like it, I don't wear it but I do try to branch out

They do a round 2 of the Winter Challenge Jan 18-February 18 but the styling is only shared via the Facebook group...so you could definitely still sign up.

For example, one of the shoe selections was leopard flats. Not my thing. So I just wore shoes I had that went with the outfits. I mostly used the shopping and outfit list as a formula: print top + long cardigan + colored pant + flats I looked for print tops that would go with a couple of colors of pants. Both which really reved up usual look of solid tee + solid pant.

I started by following the GYPO blog and her general Facebook page. After awhile I got hooked and signed up for the Winter Challenge. The challenges are a lot more (more details, ideas for combos, pieces to buy, styling tips, etc).

The challenges are a lot more (more details, ideas for combos, pieces to buy, styling tips, etc). I already really like the options of where to buy pieces. I have 10 items in my Old navy cart now (and most of them are on clearance!). I like that she gives lots of options. Everything from the $15 Old Navy shirt to the $159 shirt (from places I've never heard of). It's exactly what I need, someone to tell me what and where to buy, because I hate shopping! And I really like the facebook page with all the selfies of their outfits. I was worried that I was going to be way older and rounder than most of the people, but there are all ages and all sizes of people.
