Does this help you solidify your own style, or is it basically a list to stay up to date, with tips? I need to refine this year as I make some work and lifestyle changes. I already really like the options of where to buy pieces. I have 10 items in my Old navy cart now (and most of them are on clearance!). I like that she gives lots of options. Everything from the $15 Old Navy shirt to the $159 shirt (from places I've never heard of). It's exactly what I need, someone to tell me what and where to buy, because I hate shopping! This is one of my favorite aspects! I can also take the ideas and thrift for options. ThredUp has gotten alot of my business. Thrift works? You might have sealed it for me. I live in an area where people are very fashion conscious, so our thrift stores are current. I've been able to try different looks without spending much. That's one of the reasons I'm a little unfocused with my wardrobe now. The good news is I save so much thrifting the class fee is possible.

This makes me sad that I’m stuck with a “uniform” at work! It sounds like something I would really enjoy....but five days a week I’m a Black T-shirt and jeans.

I do a loose version of it. I signed up annually this year and I did an annual sign-up for 2018 too.
I don't wear the daily outfits & post photos on Facebook, but I print out the outfit lists & buy some of the pieces.
I find that it give me ideas of what to wear and helps me to stay on top of some of the trends without looking foolish (as I'm in my early 50's). For example, I bought the velvet vest from Lands End in this challenge & get lots of compliments when I wear it. I also bought a faux fur scarf. I learned to cut my blanket scarf in half which makes it much easier to wear.
It also helps me to streamline my shopping as I feel that I am shopping with a purpose and not just buying "stuff" & then having nothing to wear.

That's one of the reasons I'm a little unfocused with my wardrobe now. The good news is I save so much thrifting the class fee is possible. If you find your style already similar to hers, it helps solidify it and add in trendy pieces without looking too off kilter if you are an, ahem, older woman like I am. However, I think that if her styles don't already resonate with you some (though I find them pretty classic), then it would be hard to adapt into it. And yes, thrifting works for sure. She give you a shopping list, an example of the piece she will be styling and multiple options at several stores ranging from Target to Nordstrom. There is also a Pinterest page for the challenge where you can see other examples of the pieces in the list. You can buy pieces that fit what she is styling (a neutral cardigan for example) that still speak to you personally. No one ends up cookie cutter/twinkies, KWIM? I took that inspiration and decided to buy basics at less expensive places like Target and Old Navy, as well as ThredUp, and then trolled around other places for more trendy pieces on sale like Loft and Macy's.

I may get another color and cut it into triangles. It is so much better with less material.

Thanks. I'm cutting one in half today. I think I'll do triangles. I love the look of blanket scarves but they are so bulky.

I just cut two scarves in half. The cut side doesn't even show once you tie them on. I gave the other halves to my daughters. Seriously great tip.

pinkhelen thanks for blanket scarf tip. I've been using one as a holiday table topper- so bulky- and would rather get some use as a scarf!

Mine is fringed, but not drastically so. But I found that the cut side was the one that didn't show much anyway so it didn't matter that it wasn't fringed

OK, so I just clicked "place order" at Old Navy and Target. Both orders were fairly expensive, but that's only because I bought two of everything in two different sizes so that I make sure one fits. Then I'll return the others, so overall, not too bad.
