I have all the ingredients for tacos and will happily make them for dinner. Though I might pick up a tomato from the store. It's so sad when I can't go outside and pick a fresh tomato from the garden.
What's on your menu?
Have a joyous day and a fun weekend.

I'm thinking turkey noodle soup is in order to use up some of the leftover turkey from Christmas. I'll add a spinach salad and some kind of bread for the DH and DS. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I have the day off today and my DH told me he would be home at 2:00! And the best news is that his delivery on Tuesday is right around the corner from our house so he doesn't have to leave until Tuesday morning! Other than a quick trip with all the kids tomorrow to FIL house, I have him all to myself all weekend.
In celebration of this I plan to make a nice ham for dinner with baked potatoes and broccoli. And then I will use the ham bone on Sunday to make him one of his favorites...split pea and ham soup. I plan to spoil him with loads of affection and good food all weekend.

Ten bucks says it's turkey and stuff. I need to go grocery shopping as we are out of vegetables. Maybe I will make a Caesar salad to deal with the turkey.
The good news is I am having Greek food for lunch at this really good Greek restaurant today! That's a win right there.

Not ham! Since I ended up working today, I'm guessing it will be pizza or Chinese.

We had Lizard's Thicket dinners last night with my son and ddil so I'm having leftover fried shrimp, potato salad, pickled beets, and fried okra for my dinner. DH is on his own!

Dinner tonight was lamb on the grill, served with potatoes, sweet potatoes, zuchinni and aubergine. Simple but delicious.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying the bean soup I made yesterday. I canned 5 pints and there is enough for supper tonight not canned. It is snowing out and cold.......typical winter weather but not my ideal winter weather. Have a good weekend jeremysgirl ! Happy Friday Everybody!

I took chicken stock with diced chicken out of the freezer this morning. I cooked some carrots and egg noodles with frozen peas and am heating it all up together. Dh, dgd and I will eat it for dinner. Dd doesn’t consider soup a meal so she’s on her own.

Decided to make turkey soup today. Right now I have the stock simmering away in the 12 qrt Cuisinart stock pot Santa gave me. Love that it has the strainer attachment. So much better than having to make the stock in 2 dutch ovens and then strain the bones and vegetables (and make a splattery mess)

The Hello Fresh Tacos we had last night were seriously the best I've ever made! I'm not sure I'll keep going with the service, but that recipe is a keeper.
Unfortunately, I used a mandoline to slice the cucumber & radishes and was distracted by DH on the last radish. All you need to know is I'm typing with my middle and ring fingers as my thumb & index fingers are out of commission for the near future. 😩
Tonight we have a choice of a Hello Fresh Chicken & Orzo dinner or, if our Blue Apron box gets here in time, Buttery Shrimp and Kale. I'm feeling very spoilt as far as cooking goes this week.

Supposed to be ham & bean soup but I had an emergency at work & didn’t get home for lunch so it depends on when I get that ham bone cooked. I can do it in the IP reasonably quickly so maybe still.

marianne, this is the second time you've mentioned Lizard's Thicket in the past few days and I'm really envious! I lived in Columbia for 4 years and it was one of my favorite places to eat. The classic Southern meat and three! It will be a fend night here, but a very good fend night. I've been busy shopping and cooking today. I made Minestrone Soup, cheese stuffed shells, and a big bowl of citrus salad. I know I'll be eating the soup since I'm trying to do Weight Watchers. I got outside today for a nice walk. We are enjoying a couple sunny and warmish days before the damn cold Canadian front comes in on Sunday. I love our Canadian dinner tribe members, but you can keep your cold weather up north where it belongs. lucyg, how's little man doing (and you??)

I am having 10 friends over for dinner tomorrow night - lasagna, garlic bread, salad and dessert & homemade egg nog. I made 2 big lasagnas - lots of cheese & meat. Letting the noodles absorb the excess "water" or sauce. Will bake them tomorrow. Friends are bringing salad, garlic bread, adult beverages & dessert. Lots of calories. This will be a very good meal. Tonight I am having some of the leftover sauce with pasta and meatballs.

tuesdaysgone, I haven't seen him since Christmas Day! His dad has been working at home all week and keeping him there. He just called to tell me he misses me. I'm taking them out for dinner tonight (Chevy's, because apparently we haven't had enough Mexican food already this week) and we're having brunch with my stepmother on Sunday, and then I'll get him back for good on Wednesday. I understand he's been slow to adjust to the walking cast and is still using crutches. We'll see how it goes. jeremysgirl, have a sweet weekend with your DH.

Me too! That is why I went with the Cuisinart. I was looking at the Pioneer Woman and Le Creuset stock pots but when I saw this one and that it had a huge strainer that you leave in as you cook, I was sold! ETA: Plus this one is 12 qrt. 20 would be WAY too big and the Le Creuset is only 8 qrt. I think PW was 8 qrt too.

Warm greetings and Happy New Year to you all! Canadians, please come and retrieve your cold air and snow! Brrr
After a busy holiday traveling, I will have to cook supper tonight. We'll have lasagna, and maybe salad. Picked up a pricey roast for Sunday, to make up to BF for his missing out on a Christmas dinner. He'll have to cook the beef, though!

Hi I said I would make turkey something. Well it's turkey à la king. It's easy to make. I take two cans of cream of chicken soup, chop a whole lot of vegetables, throw in the turkey, boil and eat. Maybe I will get a loaf of crusty bread, too.
I went to the Japanese grocery store and it was teeming with rain outside. I needed to get food for dinner tomorrow night. We are doing sukiyaki for dinner so I got the fixings for that. I also got the "right" sesame sauce for DS to dip his meat into. I use raw egg. It's just personal preference/what I grew up with. I also got him some matcha omanju which are green tea mochi with red bean paste in the middle. I don't like them but DS said he wanted them for Oshogatsu (New Year's) so I bought him a package of them.
