This isn't new--I've noticed this for awhile. My Pinterest feed is now either promoted pins or ads, or pins related to things I've recently pinned. If any of the pins being shown were pinned by anyone I'm following, there's no way to know that I can see. In a way, it doesn't bother me--I can search for what I'm interested in, and if I really want to know what the people I'm following are pinning, I can go to their page. I don't like the ads or promoted pins, but I get that Pinterest is a revenue-generating site. But what's the point of following people if you don't even see what they pin? Nothing earth shattering here, or even looking for advice or anything--just venting a petty annoyance at 2 am because I can't sleep. Merilee

I noticed that too. I miss the old format seeing the pins of my favorite pinners on my feed.

I hate this about Pinterest now. I have noticed that on my iPad (but NOT my phone or computer) there is now a button on the bottom that looks like two heads and that will change my feed to ONLY the people I follow. I love that! On my computer I can see the pinners information and that makes it more enjoyable. I've stopped using my phone to look because it just frustrates me to have images only.

I've noticed it, too. I don't like it.

I hadn't really noticed that but I do like that I can now have sub-boards on my boards. That's a feature I have wanted since I joined Pinterest.

I can see this being especially helpful on my recipe boards! I see both, it's just that the people I follow don't pin much these days.

I surf Pinterest on my iPad every day and I don’t have the icon you are describing. Is this a new thing? I have the mini Pinterest button icon, the sideways diamond search icon, the talk bubble icon and the little man icon to get to my boards.

On my bar at the bottom of the screen (iPad mini if it makes any difference), I have the Pinterest button, an icon that looks like 2 heads/shoulders, the sideways diamond search icon, the talk bubble and the little man like you. My apps update automatically so I'm not sure when it first started. SaveSave

Yeah- just because I search for cheesecake recipes once doesn't mean I want to see a whole page of them EVERY time I open Pinterest. I need to look for that button.

I hadn't noticed it and just spent quite awhile creating sub-boards on my Tried & Liked board. I agree, I don't like all the promotional or "ideas for you" type pins, and the fact that you have to open to see who may have pinned it.

I must be the only person who likes the suggested pins. I see so many things I like that way.
I agree that I don't like not being able to see if a friend pinned something. Irritating. I also don't like that I can't see how many times one of my pins has been repinned. Not a huge deal, just an annoyance.

I was wondering why my Pinterest was so full of Smurf images, and who do I follow that also liked Smurfs... I'm going to have to find that button!

I’m on iPad too and didn’t see the two heads button, but under the settings menu there was a switch to turn off the suggested for you pins so I switched it to off. Voila! Now I can see the pins of the people I’m following again!

Yep, I agree. I don't like that I don't see the words under the pin anymore. Sometimes I can't tell an ad from a pin of someone I am following. I also like suggested pins on occasion.
