How are you all doing? I'm rewatching season 3 now. It's just as good as the first time! I ran across this blog post and thought it was geeky neat. I love the photo of Rollo! It's not his pretty head shot, but a more real look at what I would imagine young Rollo looks like. Season 4 Sneak Peek

I can't believe it, I forgot to finish the season. I got bored during one of the later episodes and just forgot to get back to it. Thanks for the reminder and the link!

I generally re-read the book before the new season. But, it's a little too early to start re-reading book 4 now, I'll wait until the summer.

Before last season I reread the entire series, so I probably won't wait as long In all actuality I don't know that I will this time. When movies are coming out based on books I have read I try not to reread right before I see them because then I end up combaring a lot and the books almost always win. I was disappointed in many choices they made for Outlander so I will probably try to refrain from rereading just so I can enjoy the show more for what it is.

I'm not bummed out yet, but I'm sure it's coming. I want to do a rewatch of the whole season. I thought I was going to get to watch it with my kids over the holiday, but one went ahead and watched and the other didn't have time. I love Jamie and Claire's time in the colonies, so I'm definitely looking forward to season 4...and .

katlaw I did see that, but forgot about sharing it here! Unfortunately I have stuff to do on Sunday. Hopefully they will put it online after It airs on Starz. Which reminds me- I need to cancel my Starz sub. Outlander is the only thing I watch there. I’m rereading The Fiery Cross now—the part where Jocasta gets married. (Not a huge deal for the non book readers, so don’t panic over the spoiler.). But man can Diana spin a tale!

It was the episode where she was taking care of all of the sick men and I just wasn't feeling it that much. I love the bits with her helper but I dunno I wasn't captivated. IIRC, a few things from previous episodes had been bothering me so it was a build up of not watching it at 11pm on Saturday nights when it was first released. No worries, I'm sure once I start again I'll watch the rest of the season in one go LOL.

If it helps I've read the entire series several times and I just picked it up last year I think.

There’s a podcast that is doing a weekly discussion of (the book) Drums of Autumn. I thought it seemed early, but really enjoying it. It’s called The Outlander Podcast. I think they’ve already done 3 episodes.

And I have to say I thought Catriona was stunning at the Golden Globes. I saw that she got engaged. While I’m happy for her I have to say my first thought was if she gets pregnant they can’t work that into the storyline!!

I'm filling the time trying to find other really good series to watch. I just finished watching "Poldark" on Amazon. I had to pay money to see season 3 but I thought it was worth it. Love, love, loved this series. Not to mention the lead actor is drop dead gorgeous! They just started filming season 4 of this series.
I won't reread the book before the next season because then I spend the time watching it and comparing it to the book too much. I'd much rather enjoy the show for what it is-a separate creation all it's own.
I'll rewatch season 3 of Outlander right before season 4 goes on the air.

I’d be paying close attention to the free weekends that cable companies offer a few times a year and hopefully catch it that way.

Yes! They cram all those fast scenes in so quickly that I usually watch it about 5 times to figure out what it is that I'm seeing! The official Outlander Facebook page says the preview will be at 10 pm E/P time. I'll set TiVo to record it, since I'm sure to forget.

This is on my list to listen to--I have a baby quilt to piece and it will be perfect.

I ended up liking The Outlander Podcast more by the end of the season-they are less interactive with their audience, but i liked their attention to detail and the dialogue between the two (while sometimes silly) was a bit more thought provoking. A total aside, but since you mentioned The Scot and the Sassenach (which I loved) Lani just did a podcast in which she totally goes off on her “abusive” relationship with Allistair. She spends a good chunk of time explaining what he did and why she left. I had commented that she seemed liked a bitter angry divorcée on her new podcast and I guess the whole world now knows why.

Is it on her Sex and Whisky podcast? I really liked the Scot and the Sassenach but you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Unless it's podcasted! I listened to Alistairs Voyager podcast last year but can't decide if I want to listen to his Drums of Autumn.

Is Allistair doing A Drums of Autumn Podcast? Personal accusations aside, I like his Outlander analysis better than all the others. However the podcast on Drums of Autumn the book that I mentioned above is by 2 women. They are long time Outlander fans and give a really good analysis. They are covering 2-3 chapters a week.

I was mixing the two podcasts up--Blake and Mary's (husband and wife) podcast is called the OutlanderCast and Summer and Ginger (sisters) do The Outlander Podcast. I didn't care much for the sister's dynamics, but I only listened to 2 or 3 at the beginning of the season. I'll have to go back and listen to some of the later ones and see if I like it better. It just seemed that one sister really talked down and interrupted the other sister and that bugged me. finaledition--I remember you saying that about Lani and I'd say you nailed that one right on the head. I'll have to check out what she says. It really is too bad--they totally had me fooled and I loved their podcasts.

I didn't find this, but I didn't spend a lot of time looking, either. The OutlanderCast's Blake is reading the book Outlander for the first time and has a book club going, but you have to pay for it. I'll have to check out The Outlander Podcast for the Drums of Autumn book reading. We have a big drive coming up in March and that would be a good time to listen to them.

I thought Alastair was going to do one, but now I can't find it on his PointNorth Media. Maybe he's doing it later in the year? I do like his Tolkien podcast, if anyone is a Tolkien fan!
