I have $150 in Ulta points that need to be redeemed soon or they will expire. I don't need anything like hair straighteners or dryers. I also have a few different perfumes so would rather not spend it that way. I have a terrible time finding eye makeup that stays on so that is something I would love to have recommendations on.
Anything else? What makeup or beauty products do you love?

Is it your eyeshadow or liner that won't stay on?

I would stock up on things I know I will be using: shampoo, conditioner, pick up some moisturizer.

What types of products do you currently use? Is there anything that you have been wanting to try? Whether it is a specific product or a type of product (like lipstick, primer, bronzer, etc)? I would probably buy some staples but also some fun new products to try.

I would stock up on my favorite products (for me, that would be IT Cosmetics).
Do you have children? Maybe let them pick put a few things, $20-25-ish worth for each.

My Ulta points don’t expire. Are you sure about that?

My Ulta points don’t expire. Are you sure about that? They do not expire for platinum members (and I'm guessing now the new diamond tier), but they do expire otherwise.

I'm saving my points to get a dry bar hair brush. My sister has one, and I tried it out. Wow! What an amazing hairbrush. She has short thick hair, and I have long fine hair - and we both thought it was the best. It's a round ceramic brush.
Depending on the size, it's about $40 - which to me seems quite a splurge (I'm cheap!). It's worth it IMHO though.
Just a thought!

My Ulta points don’t expire. Are you sure about that? Yes..... I checked my rewards statement again. I think it depends on your level.

I'm platinum, too, and I loved it because there were only two levels AND you only had to spend $350, which I always thought was reasonably obtainable, especially if you use the salon... unlike Sephora and their Rouge and the $1000 spend. So if Ulta thinks I'm gonna spend $1200 to get to diamond, they are WRONG.

I usually use my reward points to buy Christmas for my adult daughter. I decided this year I wanted to try some new products and save the money for myself. Thanks for the ideas!

How about a Clairsonic? My son and daughter both have one and love it, enough so that my other son wants one too. As for eye shadow that stays put h, have you tried any Urban Decay? That stuff stays put.

I have about $350 worth to spend and the best way to spend it is all at once or ‘lose’ out depending the level you are on. Idk if that makes any sense but that’s what the Ulta lady told me.
Anyways I’m going to buy necessary items that I know I love and use daily and then maybe a few items that I’ve always wanted to try. I always hate buying stuff I’m not sure I will like.

Also, you could treat yourself to a nice service at the salon, like a haircut or coloring session. (I'm assuming you can use rewards points for that even though I don't know.)

I'd buy expensive skincare products like Murad or Living Proof PhD shampoo and conditioner.

How much do you have to spend to have that much worth of points? That sounds like a fun spending spree! I didn't realize that you had to spend it at once or lose it. I spent so much in the fall (20% off to buy birthday and Christmas gifts) but only had $17 worth of "points". I thought I was going to have so much more.

I also noticed that it says I have to spend $450 to stay platinum in 2019.

I like the Maui babe lotion line. I don't wear make up so my go to stuff at Ulta is the Maui babe lotion and biolage hair products.

But they are worth more the more you have. So, 100 points is worth $3, but 500 points is worth $17.50, I think. 1000 points is worth $50; 2000 points is worth $125. So if you had 2000 points, and you redeem 1000 points for $50 off, you have 1000 points ($50) left, not $75 left.

You can get points in the actual amount of your purchases and you can get more points if they are having a 'deal' where you can get 5x the points on certain items. So its not always based on what you actually spent. SaveSave

So it's better to redeem 2000 pts. at once? I will try to save up my points and use it at once. Does it matter whether you spend 2000 pts. on one expensive item or would it be the same if you spend 2000 pts. on many items? I need to pay more attention to how I use the points.
