I am trying to come up with ideas for the swag bag for Kaitlyn's Crop .. and I am drawing a blank .. so with that being said please fill in the blank
The perfect crop swag bag has _____________________________ but NOT this _________________________________________
Go wild .. the theme this year is Scrappin' Through the Decades .. we do a little something each day instead of one big one at check in and it does NOT have to be scrap related ..
Thanks Cheri

At a crop, I would want black alpha stickers. Very versatile.
I would not want lotions, or anything scented.

Candy, but not chocolate. Water bottle. Handiwipes. Ear plugs.

Forgot, an embellishment related to the crop to scrap it later on.

Every crop I go to at my LSS I get a bag of candy, bottle of water, Crystal Light pouch, album (different sizes at different crops, 12x12, 8.5x11, 4x4), pattern paper that fits the crop theme (tropical, circus, 80s), sometimes a 6x6 pad, thickers. While I appreciate the themed items, I think more neutral items would be used by more people. Funny, at the last crop I received a camping 6x6 and couldn't figure how I would use it. Then I got to the long weekend we spent at Lake of the Ozarks. That paper ended up being PERFECT!

I'd like some basic cardstock. That is always useful.
I've never said no thanks to chocolate.
A little packet of tissues would be good.

The perfect crop swag bag has: Simple font Thickers or versatile embellishment pack.
but NOT this: cutesy, themed, nor something that looks like it came from the clearance section.

INCLUDE a small spoon of twine a sheet of pop dots small bag of popcorn (plain so most people might eat) a few PL cards that people could use on layouts of all kinds and sizes or cards tags or other prepunched items that are universal for all kinds of scrapping- tags cut out of cork with adhesive on the back would be a bonus doily (maybe five) of different colors.
NO old stuff that vendors are trying to get rid of

I agree with those people who have suggested things that are more neutral. You can't go wrong with adhesive (foam tape, pop dots, glue, or roller adhesive). I'm always appreciative of 12x12 paper that goes together, but is not themed in any particular way. My lips always get really dry when I scrapbook, so I would love a stick of lip balm.

Thanks so much for these .. please keep the ideas coming ..
we have been doing this for 11 years ..and THIS part always stumps me .. I hate giving the same thing each year, refuse to give crap and have to fill 200 -240 bags .. AND this is our fundraiser for Kaitlyn’s Promise so we are ona tight budget 😳
I never thought to include snacks as we provide unlimited candy and snacks for the weekend, but I have been looking at ‘candy from the decade’ to include each day ...

maybe include your fill in the blank in your post-crop survey to the attendees? then next year you'll have a better idea of what people like
things I've used from past crops: sharpened pencil / mechanical pencil black fine tip pen silver and/or gold pen (one time it was a gel pen, another the American crafts galaxy maker) enamel dots basic alphabet sticker sheet 6" centering ruler small scissors tape runner + refill foam squares
and if there are things I don't like in a gift bag, I swap / share with my friends

One thing that was super fun that a crop group in my last state did was a charm bracelet. Each crop got us a new charm that went with the crop theme. I hung mine from my travel Ott light, so people don't necessarily have to wear it, but it was a fun reminder of the different crops.
I don't love super themed items, as everybody scraps different stuff. I also don't like smelly stuff.
I love: adhesive (I always run out of foam squares) generic embellishments (enamel dots, cameras, hearts, stars) post it notes were a surprise hit (one uses them more than you think) a good journaling pen (acid-free obviously) square mini letter stickers (ala OA Mini Markets) coordinating kits (too bad you didn't ask this before Christmas - those $2 SC kits would have been an amazing gift, even for the bags alone)
I think that different candy from the decades would be fun, but I don't love it as a gift, as there are a lot of candy types I don't love. But it would be fun to put it out on the snack table for people!
Can't wait to hear what you choose to do!

small notebook and or post-its mints
I am not familiar with your cause, but is there some little token that will remind participants about the cause that you can include?
I am not a fan of scrappy supplies because you will not make everyone happy.

Items related to scrapping. Adhesive would be good because it's something you could run low on.
Since I've never been to a crop, I didn't know a swag bag was a thing! I'd honestly appreciate anything I was given.

Some form of adhesive Doilies Basic alpha stickers A couple yards of twine Tissues NO old stuff that vendors are trying to get rid of This is what one vendor would do for a retreat I go to. But to be fair, all her stock was quite dated/old, so I guess it was the only choice. I went to her store for a few crops & would really struggle to find things to buy that I could use.

I was also going to say adhesive, but also maybe some type of chapstick/carmex-lip stuff

While I haven't gotten a swag bag to compare to, some things I would like might include:
foam/pop dots enamel dots silver, white or gold pen (only if nice quality) all-purpose ephemera (if you can find most would like) Basic alphas--like the old Tiny Type, Mini Markets, or basic thickers Small bottle of Stickles (or something on that order, Nuvo Drops, shimmer glue, etc.) Very versatile washi tape--like woodgrain tape runner
I do not like "dated" looking paper, what to me feels like a random 6x6 pad, what looks like clearance themed stickers that are getting offloaded. I also don't need ribbon (twine is better, but ideally different from the "basic" twine I always have).
Oh, also adding I like those wood Kaissercraft embellishments--little stars, houses, arrows, etc., but I never want to buy a whole box of them. Little ephemera/embellishments like that would be cool for this.

Late to the party but: The perfect crop swag bag has _____________________________ but NOT this _________________________________________ One of those cotton photo finger print remover cloths or a glue remover thing www.thermowebonline.com/p/adhesive-pick-up-square/crafts-scrapbooking_adhesive-remover?pp=24 I also like a mini chalk or ink in a neutral color but many people have those things. It doesn't have lotions or hand sanitizer. I usually have plenty of my own. I also don't like hard candy except Wherthers.

I would love thickers or alphas in a neutral color, a black pen, adhesive or glue dots. Something I will use at the crop.

I like to get stuff I can use at the crop: foam dots, 2-sided tape, some pens? Maybe consumables like Kleenex, baby wipes, bottled water? Plus (if it is a store hosting) something NEW, just on the market that we can try at the crop. Storage or carrying cases are always welcome so I have somewhere to put my finished pages &/or cards to bring them home from the crop.

The perfect crop swag bag has new, NOT old product. Honestly, I end up giving away my swag bags most of the time. I've been scrapping for years and have plenty of product. What I would really appreciate is comfort and service. I would just love it if someone would provide ice for drinks, comfortable chairs - even a rental fee that went to the cause would be wonderful, CLEAN, restrooms, soft tissue, very little microphone time (It's almost impossible to hear anyway), a clear itinerary, wifi that actually works for the size of the event, healthy food/snack options, and space between rows of tables - getting bumped every time someone walks by is not cool. I've been to a lot of crops. If I went to a crop that provided these things, I would be a happy scrapper - no swag necessary. The hosts could even provide a note that said, "In lieu of swag bags, we decided to make your crop experience as comfortable as possible. Here is what we have done for you." I would love it.

We do all of that already .. we provide unlimited drinks (water, soda, tea and coffee), unlimited snack (sweet and salty). Our venue is awesome and lots of room. This is our fundraiser for our daughter's foundation and without the croppers we could not provide the scholarships. We do our best to spoil everyone that comes I have gotten some awesome ideas and would love to hear more !! Cheri

I totally agree with this! I have much different expectations for a charity crop than I do for a store or expo crop. For a charity crop, I don’t expect swag and it’s often stuff I won’t use (unless it’s adhesive or pen or storage) and I would rather the money spent on swag go to the cause. As said, I place more value on plenty of room and good food.

Hershey's, Milky Way, Kit Kat, Butterfingers, Cadbury, and scrapping stuff. It doesn't have healthy stuff. I have to eat that at home.
