“The President who was spanked with a copy of Forbes by the porn star with whom he had adulterous, unprotected sex 4 months after his 3rd wife gave birth now wants to allow "Christian" doctors and nurses to deny healthcare to LGBT people because they disapprove of that lifestyle.” "Trump previously supported women's access to abortion, saying in an interview in 1999, when he was still a celebrity real-estate tycoon in New York City, that while he "hated the concept of abortion," he was "very pro-choice."" Wonder how many he has paid cash for?

Where did you read this? Doesn't that go against their oath? Maybe I'm remembering things based on fiction I've read but this just doesn't seem like something they would be allowed to do. Certainly not ethical. I have to hope the source is wrong. There is a article in the Daily beast call “Trump Administration Protects Your Right to Discriminate Against Women and LGBT People “ I’m sorry I don’t know how to post the link but do a little Google search it’s everywhere

Judicial Watch: Trump's recent flights cost taxpayers $3.2MBY JOHN BOWDEN - 01/19/18 03:28 PM ESTPresident Trump's recent use of Air Force One to fly to his various properties and campaign rallies have cost taxpayers nearly $3.2 million since June, according to documents obtained by a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Documents obtained by the conservative group Judicial Watch reveal that President Trump's travel costs for various trips to his Bedminster, N.J., golf club, resorts in Florida and New York, and campaign rallies have cost $3,199,188 since June 30, bringing the total cost of Trump's travel so far as president up to $13,533,937.“The president is accountable to the taxpayers — they spend our hard-earned dollars and that’s why Judicial Watch keeps track of certain travel costs,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a press release. “Trump’s regular trips to his homes are adding up to a hefty sum.” In contrast, former President Obama's travel costs during his last fiscal year in office totaled just $882,756, according to Judicial Watch. Nearly half of the almost $3.2 million spent by Trump since the end of June was incurred by a trip to Yuma, Ariz., during which the president spoke with Marines before attending a campaign rally. The travel expenditures for that trip alone amounted to $1,509,228. Trump has spent 121 days of his presidency at his personal properties, according to an NBC News tracker, equaling roughly a third of his presidency so far. Before taking office, Trump frequently criticized his predecessor for spending too much time golfing or other vacation activities.“The problem with the president, he’s played more than people on the PGA Tour,” Trump said in 2015. “He plays a lot. He’s like a touring professional in terms of the amount of play.” thehill.com/homenews/administration/369794-judicial-watch-trumps-recent-flights-cost-taxpayers-nearly-32-millionOver $13 Million in less then a year!! 1/3 of the year spent at HIS properties!

Kyle Griffin....
“Right now, in a number of states, the laws allow a baby to be born from his or her mother’s womb in the ninth month. It is wrong. It has to change.”
Genuinely confused by this. (via ABC)“
This is trump, speaking slowly, at an anti abortion rally. He is talking about late term abortion. Does this make any sense to you?
The reason I said slowly because he had time to put his thoughts together so they made sense.
There is a video with this tweet and as much I hate hearing him talk I wanted to make sure he said it. He did.

Good lord, this makes me insane. At least there's an argument to be made for allowing medical personnel to not participate in abortions. But to allow them to refuse to dispense birth control or refuse to take care of a gay person ... holy hell, my head is going to explode. What if they decide they have a moral objection to Latinos or black people? Children with disabilities? Police officers or soldiers? Let's see, how would it go over if doctors and nurses refused to treat people because they have developed a moral objection to Christianity?

Paul Ryan....
“Senator Schumer, do not shut down the federal government.
Do not jeopardize funding for our military and for our national security.
Do not jeopardize funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
It is risky. It is reckless. And it is wrong.”
What a jerk. This is all on the trump/GOP. It was their choice to play games with the fate of kids in DACA and children’s health care. Both of these issues could have been handled separately from the spending bills.

Let's see, how would it go over if doctors and nurses refused to treat people because they have developed a moral objection to Christianity? Good thought. What would happen if public hospitals, or any medical care facility asked applicants if they would treat the 'unwanted', what ever title they would give them? Would the applicants claim discrimination? The other issue is that doctors and medical staff should be allowed to do the procedures that are needed/wanted for their patients, and it should not have to be law. I do fear that if he gets all his judicial appointments through .. Roe v. Wade could be at risk somewhere down the line.... Those with $$$$$ would get their procedure, those without would end up in a back alley. I saw those days and could name names!

Or if public school teachers can decide not to teach the children of gay couples, or conservative Christians, or Muslims, or anyone whose beliefs we don't agree with? I've got a little boy with super conservative parents right now that I'd love to not teach anymore. He's a pain in my ass. Where is that religious objection form? The flying spaghetti monster says I'm not allowed to engage with that lifestyle.

There was a Republican congressperson on NPR this morning trying to tell everyone that it was all the Democrats' fault for putting "illegals" ahead of kids who benefit from CHIP. Bullshit. Your cheeto in chief is the one who turned down the bipartisan bill. Take your complaints back to him.

There is a picture on twitter of 4 people, two of them I would like to be the 2020 Democratic ticket. My dream team.
The two standing next to each other, my dream team are Kamala Harris and Joe Kennedy III. Harris/Kennedy for 2020!
I tried to drag the picture over but, sigh, my technical skills are lacking.
But they look good together as potential President & Vice President! 😀

Republican senator slams his own party as government shutdown looms: Our country is ‘being run by idiots’BOB BRIGHAM 19 JAN 2018 AT 19:13 ET Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana blasted his own party as “idiots” hours before a federal government shutdown. “Our country was founded by geniuses, but it’s being run by idiots,” Sen. Kennedy charged on Friday. On Wednesday, the GOP senator also blasted the federal government disfunction while the Republican Party controls the White House, the Senate and the House.
“We’ve got to stop looking like the Jerry Springer show up here,” Sen. Kennedy said. “That’s why the aliens won’t talk to us. They’re saying, these people, they’re thirteen year olds, OK?” "Our country was founded by geniuses, but it's being run by idiots," Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) says as government shutdown looms. pic.twitter.com/xBIT6fYG9H

This is what he signed up for. If he did NOT want to do the job he was running for then he shouldn't have run. Even if he thought he wouldn't win. How HORRIBLE would it look for him if he was partying down in Florida, celebrating the anniversary of his inauguration, when the government is in shutdown meltdown? Of course, he's tone-deaf enough to not CARE about the optics of THAT.

Top Dem presses Trump health official on potential ethics violationBY PETER SULLIVAN - 01/19/18 02:06 PM EST The letter cites evidence that Verma was involved in reviewing waiver applications from three states that were clients of her consulting business, SVC Inc., which it says appears to violate the terms of her ethics agreement. “Recent statements by governors representing multiple states indicate that Administrator Verma has personally and substantially participated in waivers submitted to CMS by states that were clients of her previous consulting business,” Wyden writes. “Such participation appears to violate Administrator Verma’s ethics agreement, absent the issuance of written waivers for each of her interactions on a case-by-case basis.”
Wyden asks for any ethics waivers that have been issued. Two of the waivers involved, from Arkansas and Kentucky, are states applying to impose work requirements on Medicaid recipients, a move Democrats have denounced as undermining the program for low-income people. As evidence, the letter cites statements including Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin (R) saying that “Seema Verma, who is the one who oversees this for the U.S., is the one who contacted ... our cabinet at the state level.”thehill.com/policy/healthcare/369769-top-dem-presses-trump-health-official-on-potential-ethics-violationThere truly is not hope with his people!

I don't know if this was discussed here or not, but this morning I heard that Sebastian Gorka has an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the country of Hungary, and he's on his way there soon (some sort of weapons-related charges)... it was hanging out there even before the election. If only they had done a background check on him beforehand.
(And on everyone else!!)

Greg Sargent...
“Yup. The story here is that Team Stephen Miller doesn't actually want a deal protecting the Dreamers, and they're manipulating Trump into believing that anything that can *actually pass the Senate* betrays Trump's base, to prevent any resolution.”
What a terrible but true statement to make about the President of the United States.

I think he has no real friends so if anyone talks to him he will ask them if they want to work for him. His "friends" may have integrity, but hard to know because if his friends aren't qualified for the job, why would they accept, but they might... so weird. Is it all about money and power?

Pitting one group of kids (CHIP recipients) against another (Dreamers). Yep. Sounds like GOP.
How about you stop kicking the can (to Feb this time) and DEAL W/THE FACT THAT TRUMP ENDED DACA IN SEPT and it's time to LEGISLATE. No, you were too busy giving tax cuts to corps so they could give bigger dividends to foreign & domestic shareholders.
Or how about the GOP votes for a shorter term stop-gap (like a week) to avoid a shutdown? Or how about MoConnell had let the bipartisan deal go to a floor vote since Trump promised to sign such a deal (of course he later backtracked).
There are/were any number of ways out of this - but the GOP big money boys want immigration and the GOP racists don't and they want to hide their disunity by getting people to blame the dems. GOOD LUCK BOYS - YOU RUN IT ALL - IF YOU CAN'T PUT FORTH LEGISLATION THAT A MERE 60 CAN GET BEHIND - THIS IS ON YOU.

“Not looking good for our great Military or Safety & Security on the very dangerous Southern Border. Dems want a Shutdown in order to help diminish the great success of the Tax Cuts, and what they are doing for our booming economy.”
Its interesting how his mind works. So now it’s a plot by the Democrats to “ dimish the great success of the tac cuts”.
