I want to stamp on my envelopes and would rather not make my own with my neenah. Do u have a favorite a2 envelope that's heavier weight and can be stamped and embossed upon? I see some on amazon but they mostly come with card inserts, which i don't need. Thanks!!

I know this won't help you, but I've been getting my envelopes from a local (independent) paper and printing store. I pay $1.25 for 25 envelopes and I have a bunch of different colors.

Clearbags.com basis envelopes are my favorites. The Basis envelopes are good everyday envelopes that are a nice weight and smooth texture. They feel like good quality without being ridiculously fancy, if you know what I mean. They're not wedding invite quality, but they are noticeably nicer than a normal envelope. 70lb text weight paper, if that means anything to you. For my personal notes and cards I tend to use the thin basic envelopes from Columbian that you can buy on amazon, but for the cards I sell I use the ClearBags Basis envelopes because they don't look or feel so cheap. I tried to order cheaper ones from amazon to cut my costs and when I opened the packaging I found they were thin like copy paper and see-through -- not the image I wanted to go for. I also prefer the closure to go straight across instead of being the pointed style. The Basis envelopes go straight across. The basis envelopes have a very slight texture/tooth to the paper that I think would hold up to stamping well, but I haven't tried that myself so I can't say for sure. But ClearBags also has other options that might work better. I think you can order samples, and they have bulk discounts. I've had good service from them - no problems, anyway. I'm about to order more.

thank you both of you! i will likely try the amazon one's first, since it's easy, and if i don't like them, i will try the clearbags. I too am considering beginning to sell my cards at my office (i run an acupuncture office, so i can set up a little display) and want a nice presentation. I think clearbags sells the nice clear bags for single cards and envelopes, too, so i need to look.

I'd like to find something like this that is also self adhesive. I hate licking envelopes and a sponge doesn't always do it right. I don't want to end up like Susan Ross.

OMGosh, I think of her every time I have to lick an envelope! I usually dab water with a sponge, let it dry, then put washi over the seam.
